Does anyone still have a home phone? What about a phone book?
So, do you?

Nope. Nope.

Yes, if I had my way I wouldn't, mrs for some reason feels as though she needs it, fkd if I know why, what's the point when you have a mobile phone...

When the power goes out and you dont have a way to charge your cell phone for days it's all the lands lines that will keep working. Only problem is they are all over priced now days for a basic landlines so i am dropping mine also soon.

I have all three: home phone, corded phone, and phone book.

Yes sitting right next to my cordless because when the power goes out the cordless does no good so I will plug in the corded.
I have a couple hand crank usb chargers now so I can charge phones and such when/if the power does go out. It's the radio, light, charger all in one and a 2nd as a backup in-case the 1st one fails.Last edited by lovbyts; 06-07-2013 at 08:52 AM.

Hi guys, crazy here, "The Oldest Juicer on the Forum" haa! anyway. I have had the same home landline since 2007 when I moved out where I am. That's the phone my wife uses. I have my cell. I'll always keep a landline as long as I can. ...crazy mike

we have Comcast, and have a bundled service. If I were to lose the landline, I'd probably save $2/month.

I have both a land line and phone book.
I get 3 phone books dumped in my driveway every year.
The land line comes in handy because the cell phone is paid for by work and cell service sometimes drops out.

We haven't had a land line in probably seven years.

I think the last home phone bill I paid was in '99. I have no less than 7 phone books, however. All of them delivered within the past 2 years. I have never used any of them. Why do I keep them?? Lol. I cannot explain that!

Not to be a broken record but you do know why dont you? Because all the electronics are made in china now so they burn out easily. The old ones if they ever go out you only have to replace one resister typically and it was an easy fix. My mom had one that was over 20 years old also.

Same here but manufactureres don't want things to last anymore because if it breaks after 5 years people now believe that they got their worth out of it and will purchase anouther one.
If they were to charge the same money as you would probably spend in 10 years the normal joe soap would freak out and call them a rip off you know yourself. It is the same most electronics the only things that seem to last are decent speakers
