I have received same comments in the past. I hate going to my family reunions because my family thinks I’m a stuck up ass because I don’t pig out like they do and don’t eat dessert. I try to ensure that when I go to reunions that I show up after they eat that way I have an excuse for not stuffing myself.

Was in a supermarket today, and was in a t shirt after work walking around some teenagers where there. I was walking minding my own business getting some food as you do. Walking down to the check outs and this clown of a guy decides to take me off by walking as if he was muscular. I just left it off but it really pissed me off. How ignorant can people be.

I had a buddy with me, who is asian and for the first time I experienced what he probably has experienced all his life. Not that I trying to compare the two situations that they are 100% alike but both are dimilar as it is people movking you over your looks.
Thankfully he was there as he calmed me down I was going to say something to them but just left it off as he calmed me down but man it was a very annoying thing. A chap like that needs to learn some manners via a punch to the face as you said jv its only a matter of time he does it to the wrong person and they won't be as calm

People are just ignorant asses. To this community we get it in a different way. But so do blacks, and gays, and every other group that's "different" than others. That's why I just keep to myself. If I have to take care of business I'm not going to hesitate but I'd rather just do my own thing.

fit or fat... people get made fun of because the person "making fun" is low self confidence or they are looking for any thing to start a conversation with some one...
here what i mean from the info you posted... the girl that you said made the comment, 98% chance she knows that gum doenst have alot of cals... so what were her other reasons for saying that?
1) she has a strange sence of humor ( could be possible)
2) she has low self confidence and looks for any possible thing to put other people down ( again, could be possible)
3) she was flirting with you ... and was nervous so it came out the wrong way...
and / or maybe you were a little sensitive and took the whole comment out of context...
just a diff perspective i hope...

I was just thinking about this... What if some kid did that to me, how would I react? Honestly it's probably do the same thing... Stand as tall as.I can and puff up. Normally I try to look compact so it's not so obvious that I lift a lot. No you can't hide it completely but I've gotten pretty good at trying to blend in. if I walked around back straight, chest out, shoulders back, lats spread I'd be pretty big looking at 6' 225lbs. The stupid kid would probably shit his pants. He.can make fun of me all he wants but it's jealousy and he's the one that looks like an ass. People respect the dedication whether they admit it or not. What guy doesn't want to be big and lean?

The health theachers are nearly worse they think they know it all etc and want to inform you how you are doing it wring when they are shit looking themselves. I don't tell people anything unless they ask me after that i dont say anything.
Lol im 5ft 10 and 225lbs carrying a tiny bit of fat and thats probably why. They just wantbto be like us or automatically assume we are idiots because in films etc muscular people are portrayed as slow for some reason.

Seriously what's up with that? Muscular = dumb. Why?? Arnold had a super thick accent in the 60's and 70's, it's gotten much better over time. Ferrigno was deaf almost completely so also was not very understandable but that's not the same as.dumb or inarticulate. Ferrigno recently got cochlear implants and speaks as clearly as anyone now. Neither of them are even close to stupid. Maybe that's where the stereotype originated though. Two huge bodybuilders who were famous at the same time and had speech problems. ??Last edited by Java Man; 06-19-2013 at 03:06 AM.

Lol. You obviously work out gb. I feel like that too sometimes but I was a fat arse 7 mos ago so I'm justified, sort of. More likely they're wondering how the hell I went from 240+ fatso to 225 with veins in such a short time. Steroids I'll bet!! They didn't know me 10yrs ago though. I can't see anyone thinking you don't even work out and are trying to look big by wearing 'tight' XXL shirts. That's purely in your head!

Its easy for me to look like I don't lift. Having short bicep and tricep insertions, in shirts, most sleeves drop past the size of my arms but before my elbow. Which gives the appearance I have about 13" arms lol. I guess my back and shoulders still look big but only people who lift would notice that. Non lifters focus on arm size more than anything else. Where as when I look at someone, I immediately look at their shoulders and back. And 99% of the time I find bicep warriors who have big arms and that's it. Easy to spot the guys who only bench and curl.

Jm i dunno were the stereotype came from but it must be people saying these tjings for their own failings, you get it with all things brands of stuff loads of people love bose stereos but in reality they are shoite but try and tell that to the brand fanboy and yhey will just laugh at any other suggestions if you get me.
Its just strange that people feel the need to make a comment

When I eventually look like I work out I'll be pissed off if nobody says anything to me
People just don't understand. They are uneducated in what we do. Same as we were all fairly uneducated when we started out. They don't realise it takes ALOt of effort into looking quite average in this game. Some people are genuinely interested in how you get to look good and, even if I know they aren't interested in doing it themselves, I will happily spend some time and try and educate.
I've never had any really disparaging remarks. Maybe I've never looked as good as you guys. Maybe it's because I've never weighed over 200lbs for any length of time.NO SOURCES GIVEN

It's similar to when kids make fun of other kids and bully in grade school...largely driven by low self esteem, it's an attempt to make themselves feel better.

Yeah I'm following. It's backwards thinking though if one thinks with logic instead of thinking about what others will think for ego or status. Listen to the sound quality, buy the one that sounds the best, them look at the maker's label so you remember who makes good stereos. People don't do that though. Sheeple I mean

Same here, but it was more like 5 years ago. 254lbs at my biggest, mid 30's BF%. So I feel you 100%.
lol, thanks man. If I were wearing XXL shirts that were tight fitting, we wouldn't be having this conversation, cus' I'd look like a beast and I'd KNOW it. Tight fitting size Large... that's about as good as it's gonna get for me.
Amen bro, SO fckin true.
Great first post... bingo!
Lmao
You're looking great bro. I hit 219lbs but looked like a bloated fat ass. Seems that hovering at/around 200lbs is my 'sweet spot', at 190lbs I'd look pretty lean and ripped. Maybe the same for you (however you're already leaner than I am atm).
Says the man hiding boulders where a calve muscle should be.
