What are the laws regarding firearm ownership in your country?

In the US, it varies by State but Federal law says.anyone over the age of 18 can purchase a firearm as long as they are not a convicted felon, not subject to any restraining orders, and pass a firearm safety test / demonstration. You pay for the firearm, full out some sworn statements about not wanting to kill anyone, not a felon, etc. You then have to wait 10 days before you can handle the firearm and take it home.

The Justice Dept does a.background check during that 10 day waiting period. There are no limits on how much ammo you can buy or how many guns one can own. Anything made for civilian use that is not full auto capable is for sale. You can get a permit for just about any firearm though with proper training and credentials / requisites met.

Other countries? I'd like to hear about gun laws where youre from, everyone. Thanks!

I'll speak for Texas since our states vary in laws...

    . You must be 18.
. You can carry a loaded handgun.
. You may not conceal a handgun without a permit.
. Shotguns must be exposed and clearly visible in your vehicle.
. Shotguns may not be carried unless hunting or self defence.
. Deadly force is justified in cases of self defense, intrusions, burglaries and arson.

I'm sure there's more. But thats what I can recall. I'm licensed and exercise my right to carry my XDM-40 concealed, everywhere I go.

You may have confused your state law with Federal law.

Yeah bud federal law doesn't have any training requirement or waiting periods. In fact, once 18 you can buy a handgun private sale. No background check, no paperwork. 18 is legal to own a firearm. Where as from an ffl, you must be 21 to purchase a handgun.

Here in GA we can openly carry shotguns and ar15 rifles loaded. Handguns can be open or concealed while loaded. You need a license to carry open or concealed.

Federal law requires 21 for a handgun and 18 for a rifle or shotgun.

Only from a dealer. Private sale is 18 for all. Look it up homie

    d. Gift / Loan- A person 18 years of age or older may receive a HG as a gift or loan from a non-licensee who resides in the same State as the recipient.

    e. Outside State of Residency - A person may not receive a HG from a non-licensee who resides in another State, except by:

I know it front to back "homie" lol. It wasn't specified if we were talking about private transfer of purchase from an FFL. I ASSumed we were discussing purchase from an FFL vs the crack head down the street lol.

I believe this is one change that will be made in the future. I think all sales will require a legal transfer.

Shotgun, double barrell or up and over, pump capacity limited to 3

rifle, .22, or 308, semi auto or bolt action

both the above have to be kept at all times locked in a steel gun safe and unloaded

handgun, very difficult and kept in gun club, only way to get a license is if its competitive shooting and .22 or 9mm

guns can be inspected by guards (police) and you have to account for every round fired, i.e keep shell casings and it must match up with the ammo you have bought, gun shops have to keep records of what they sell you

easier, cheaper and more selection to go the less legitmate route, i like this FN 5.7mm

South Carolina, you can walk in and walk out with handgun provided your background checks out.
I'm in ct now and have to get a licensed ct conceal permit(training) before I can even attempt to buy one. Sucks not gonna be here to much longer.

There also this law in the US.

A person of any age who is of the UPPER class ($$RICH$$) and or famous may do as they please. Disregard all laws.

Exemption 1 - If suspect cannot be proved 100% guilty they must be released or given the minimum amount of probation and or publicly apologize.

Exemption 2 - If suspect can be proven 100% guilty they must be released on bail of a minimum of $1,000,000 but not to exceed $5,000,000.
If found guilty they must serve a minimum of 1 day incarcerated but no more then 50% of the suspects sentence.

Welcome to America where the Rich get richer and the poor get assistance while the middle class pays for everything.

I love shooting this thing. No recoil and accuracy near 100 yrds with a handgun. I will own one eventually.
