Any Ebay experts here
I am new to ebay. I have 2 positive ratings.
I recently sold 200 dvds on ebay for $100 which IMO was pretty much giving them away. The shipping cost would not calculate correctly so I wrote in the body how much it would cost to ship. So someone buys them and of course shorts me on the shipping.
I email them saying dont sweat it I am not trying to make money just clear some space and get them out of my place. So to make a long story short I get an email from EBay stating they are starting a case against me for selling junk.
This buyer is completely irrational accusing me of robing her and mail fraud. He/She sounds completely ridiculous. She said I was missing 18 dvds from the list so I offered a $20 refund which she shot down and said the dvd were dirty. So tonight when I got home from vacation I found the dvds in a tin and I said I would send them.
Se is refusing and now is saying 16 dvds are missing. I dont want to take back the dvds as I have no idea what she did with them. She told me she is asking ebay for a full refund and have my have them picked up from her house.
The money is not clear for 10 days. What usually happens in this instance?

Yea, if she filed a complaint with PayPal to get a refund, that might be why the money is hung up.

Money was in limbo before the complaint. I paid 45 to ship and now I have to pay 45 to send it back plus I dont know what I am getting back. Doesnt sound fair to me

Unfortunately you will loose item not as described the money will stay in limbo and she will win I have been in these cases before and won but you have no wiggle room you will loose and she will be required to ship them back to you. Thats the short and blunt answer

Iv had dispute cases and eBay pays out of there own pocket in genuine circumstances, they make shit loads of cash every minute. Stick to your guns - in fact up the stakes - make your case - insist they were all there boxed and innit condition - your word against hers - counter sue her - you were short changed - make em pay the full $245 or what ever , I bet you win - I'm serious - it's bad for business otherwise.

I sell on ebay everyday. just send her back her money and make it right then resell them for a bit more to make it up. Always set a shipping cost that is general for everyone in the U.S. for that may discs a $50.00 flat rate for them all would be what I would charge and at most would cost me 20-25 with insurance to deliver. Letting ebay calculate the cost does not account for your time or packaging and all good ebayer's do not mind paying for that. Plus always get a tracking number or the person can scam you by saying they never received it, happens all the time. I only ship in Canada because international shipping is a pain. If you keep disputing it then you will get a negative rating and that makes buying and selling on ebay a big pain. For the price you are asking it sounds like a good deal if the discs all come in there cases and do not need resurfacing. All new Ebay users who accept pay pal wait 21 days till the money is released or on till the shipping has been tracked to the door of the person without complaint. Once they confirm shipping you can call them on the 4th day after the item has been received and they will release your money which will now take 3-7 business days to appear in your bank account which you must go into your pay pal account and transfer. You probably could have got what you were asking for those at any pawn shop or used dvd store unless they are in bad condition. the cost of resurfacing the discs depends and the type of machine you have mine was over 5gs but now I can resurface any disc for 30c including blu rays and I charge between 3-6 bucks per disc depending on what they are. If you need any more help I will keep an eye on this thread.

And when you have counter claimed against her and won - open a new account as you only have a couple of good feedback. That was probably the reason why you got such a low price.

Its either a women or a gay man. The dramatics is making me want to fed ex myself down to her address and kick her in the twat. I swear you'd think I killed her family the way she is behaving.
I went back to ebay and stated my case that she is paying 66 cents a dvd yet is looking for perfection. All dvds were package. There were some missing that I would send for free. She did not send full shipping amount. Look at how she is behaving and does it sound like she is mentally stable?
I just sold my old pc and the guy does not have the money to pay me. Ebay sucks

Yep that happens all the time. You can file a case against him in the resolution center if you want. It will not get you your money from him but will give him a negative and let other sellers know he is a punk. Ebay can suck but can also be great. Its a love hate relationship lol.

Dude ebay has taken $40 form me I have made no money.
I sold these dvds once before and the person refused to send the correct amount for shipping. So I never accepted her paypal money. I sold a computer and the bidder has no money to pay for it for 10 days. I sold a meat grinder and the money is still on hold because I am a new ebayer

Happened to me along with a bunch of other BS. I make 75% of my income of eBay so I been through the ringer a few times then some.
eBay is now at a point where small time people like yourself who have not sold much just get fvcked. It's all about the big sellers and keeping up with those ass holes really gets old.
Sorry to hear you're getting hosed. But, on eBay you can't cut anyone slack. Every buyer is a potential scammer. Out of 500+ transactions I have had 2 using stolen accounts, one who just lied and sent me back my shit just because and one 5k account hold just because someone said the word fraud.
So yeah, be aware - very aware. Every individual I hear from that tries to sell on eBay always gets fvcked. Me, I make a living out of it. But, it's not easy.

Got my stuff back today. Minus a 112 DVDS. The only ones she left were the ones that had some damage and the ones that I had bought form blockbuster for half off with all the stickers on them. I guess there is no re sale value once those stickers are pulled off case.
Words cannot express how angry I was. This person saw an opportunity and completely took advantage off me. I just got off the phone with ebay and something is off because they are telling me all I have to do is fill out this form on the net that claims she basically robbed me and they will give me the money back. I am really disappointed in humanity.
I know that sounds pathetic but I cant believe someone would go so far for a 100 bucks......

I am pretty much done with Ebay. It seems like this stuff happens all the time. She messed up on the weight. My package out with 35 pounds and hers to me was 42 pounds. a 7 pound difference in dvds is a lot in my favor no less. When we weighed the box it was 12 lbs. She really has a system down to screw people like this.

Add that information to your ebay complaint. Check her user history. Contact anyone who has had bad feedback via email and ask them for their experience and details. Then give that information to ebay also.
I did this once with an obvious scammer and got enough proof they were banned.

Yea he is done. His paypal id was the name of his corporation. I searched the id and the city and state and mailed to and I found everything on him. Race, male, age address, phone number. He is on rip off report. I sent everything over to ebay and I filed a police report.

It's amazing what you can find out about someone if you search enough. The guy who tried to rip me off had a movie, software pirating company and he hacked PS2 and xbox for a living. I found enough stuff on him that it actually got turned over to FBI because he was sending email physical threats to people over state line making it federal.
I was pumped when I got a call from FBI agent saying all the information I sent him and the cooperation from the people I contacted was putting this guy away. I actually read about it in the papers when he got took down. LOL

Yup, dont ever call the person. Doesnt matter if you threaten him or not he will have a record of you calling him and he will make something up. You have to understand that people like this do not play by our rules or think like us. They will say/do things that are crazy but know it will only make you look bad.
I once had a kid who used the hood of our car at a park to climp up on a wall it was parked next to. Confronted the kid and his mom. His mom agreed to pay for damages to the hood. Later when I called to give them the estimate the father got all bent out of shape and started saying all sorts of WEIRD stuff on the phone about me exposing myself to his daughter just to try to get things off track. I didnt go for any of it, kept my calm and stayed on subject. I also recorded the conversation because I could tell it was going to go south from the last call.
I got it taken care of via small claims court.

There are a ton of scammers on Ebay sucks to hear your first try went so bad. I have been scammed twice when returning an item. Both times I was sending back an item I was not happy with to the U.S. and cheaped out, sent the return without tracking and the person claimed they did not receive the items back. After waiting the mandatory 90 days to open a claim with Canada Post the ebay user disappeared. Always track your items period. When you mailed the dvds at the post office there should have been a recorded record of weight and package size. Use this in the resolution center on ebay to try to get your money back. All returns should be returned has shipped by the seller. Good Luck!

LMAO
It is funny to see that people just can not understand how business is conducted.
It is tough for sure when you are just a individual and don't know jack from shit, but. . . .
I have eaten other costs a handful of times just to keep my top seller rating.
In this case, it is possible that PayPal will actually pay you & take the shit bag customer into subrogation.
Just the way it is man - people are piles of shit, plain & simple
In this type of case is where I eat cost, a 100 Bux is not worth that much of my effort. & you had to pay shipping
Man, people really are shit bags

There is a difference between being upset and acting like I stole his first born child. Me leaving those dvds was an honest error that I tried to make good on by sending down for free and offering a $20 credit
I now realize that was this guys opening to take the angle he did and I kept fueling the fire with my comments making myself look more and more guilty with every word I uttered.

Lesson learned
@ least it was cheap, think if you would have lost a 500 Dollar + item.

I sell a lot on eBay and people don't realize they are selling a product by their typed words. You need to list EVERY detail of the product. There is a huge difference between "DVD's for sale" and "DVD's slightly used , has wear marks on them Sold AS-IS". Also before I would have shipped the DVD's I would have check each and every case for a DVD (that's just me). You could have just got a douche so maybe try it one more time.
