Seriously, sites are cheap as hell. I know you said free, but you can buy yourself a .com for $10-$15 a year. Server space is very cheap also, hostgator.com has plans starting out at $3.96 a month! Wordpress is an easy way to create quick but nice looking websites also. You can go to wordpress.org to learn more about wordpress. Note that wordpress.com is a totally different blogging site, doesnt have the info on the software I was speaking of.

Take a HTML class and learn how to build a 3 layer website using Notepad. Then you are a real man.
I did it once. Cant remember a damn thing about how I did it. I know I still have the disk (3 1/2 floppy) around somewhere but now I have nothing to read it with. lol
Are you looking to build a site that has selling capabilities or just information? It might help your final decision. I have not done anything like that in many years so I can recommend who to use. Just take one of the given examples and try playing with it. You can probably google/youtube one of them also to see a step by step instructions.

Lol. Sorry dude. sourceforge is where high quality open source(ie free) software can be found but its a programmer community and a lot of it doesn't have instructions. This bulletin board software (vBulletin) is distributed and maintained on sourceforge for instance.
Edit: used to be. Apparently vBulletin is commercial now.Last edited by Java Man; 07-14-2013 at 11:54 PM.

Yeah man, if you dont mind spending $10-$15 for your .com, the only other thing you need to buy is server space and like I said HostGator starts out at $3.96 a month. You probably have to pay yearly though instead of monthly, so up front you would probably be investing about $60, and keep in mind it would cost ya about the same, yearly because you have to renew your domain every year also. But Wordpress is so simple man. You can make as simple, or as intricate of a site as you would like with it. I think ud be happiest going with wordpress if your learning as you go.
