The New iPhone(s) have been released

Well, it happened just as planned. Apple is releasing two different new iPhone, the 5s & a 5c. The 5c should really nail down the cheaper end of the high end phone market.

I wonder if the Apple stock will bounce back to it's once upon a time high (of about 700 a share).

But, with this launch it should do something to Apple's attempt to grab more Sheeple in the smartphone market.

F'n apple, with their proprietary chips, in their 5, 5s, 5c charging cables! Generics will support data, but not charging, from what i've been told. My sons n I all still have versions of the 4, and can still use generic cables. Yeah, we're hard on those short expensive little 4uckers...

What advantage is there from 5 vs 4?

Send me one of each & I will let you know

Yes, iOS 7 is also out. It has been out in beta for a bit now, nothing spectacular IMO. Full release should be the 18th of this month.

Since I turn about 100 of these a month, I try to stay on top of all Apple shit.

Yeah, generic cables and chargers are possible death of the i5. I have seen aftermarket chargers not charge, randomly charge, not connect to iTunes - Or my favorite, make the battery expand and blow the digitizer off. < Best yet

The quality on the iPhone 5 is still excellent, but nowhere near as solid as the i4 platform. Oh well, they need so sell more shit & making shit extremely long lasting is not the way to go. The iPhone 4 & 4s will be around for a bit. They aren't making that mistake again.

From everything I see so far, the rumor of fingerprint recognition is just BS.

I wonder if the Apple stock will bounce back to it's once upon a time high (of about 700 a share).

Only time will tell, but just heard from a friend who owns that the stock dropped a little over 3 bucks upon the announcement.

I have a 4S and I hated it until I jailbroke it. I won't buy another Apple phone again though. They are no longer the leaders. Kids have Samsung and they are so user friendly it doesn't even compare. Just my opinion.

Crapple is still the leading manufacturer of smartphones. No matter how much we love to hate them, they always have the leading smartphone crap.

But, yeah - Jailed devices and going by the Crapple book is a joke. How can people even compare Android to the iOS? You can't even delete songs from your music library in iOS. I still remember how long it took crapple to allow you to change your background or to have MMS.

Looks pretty legit. 64 bit chip, finger ID to unlock phone and make purchases. Vastly improved camera...

I'll make the switch to android when they make one that fits comfortably in my pocket, and doesn't shatter from a minimal drop.

Really those are the only things preventing the switch for me.

^ No joke. If I wanted a dang laptop on my pocket I'd get a droid. Do those things come with wall mounts?

You can get a case with a kickstand built in. That's pretty close!

I think they do good laptops, but Samsung and Sony are making better phones. Even the Windows HTC are pretty sweet. All of these can do anything a Apple can do and more for half the price.

    I have a Sony Xperia Z.

I can delete so ga from my library. I had android for years and it was always giving me problems( crashing, locking up) not once I. Two years with my iPhone. I was never a big apple person, just thought they were more a status thing. Then I used one and decided to get one and I won't go back to no other phone. No crashes, no lockups, no problems at all. I think everyone's experiences with different phones is different. Plus it fits in my pocket. The only thing I don't like is I can't turn it off when charging.

Plus the locking off phones is an American thing I believe, because every phone my wife has bought in Singapore they are not locked.

Honestly, my contract is up in January and there is a very good chance I will be going back to a dumb phone.

With 3 in my family having phones, I may need to start delivering pizzas after work just to pay the phone bills.

Yep, I'm thinking about straight talk due to mine being up in march. I started a thread to see if anyone here uses it but got no replies. But for unlimited at 45 a month and I can still be on Verizon's system I figured I would give it a try.

I have an iphone from my employer. Our plan only allows us to text other iphones. None of my clients have iphones so it is a pain in the ass. In fact, the only people I can text are fellow emplyees and my wife none of my friends have iphones either. Point being, apple does not seem to have the market cornered on iphones.

I know a cpl guys that use em. They work but seem less effective than a true Verizon phone. While I could be wrong, I have been told that the non-Verizon phones are basically given access to a B side of a Verizon tower so that they are roaming instead of operating at full strength. The signal doesn't seem as strong.

I got straight talk for my ex-wife because I didn't feel she deserved an iPhone when she'd only hock it for $$ for pills.

Anyways...... It sucked. The phones are fvckin horrible. I went through 2 $50 phones and then dropped $150 for a better one all in the same year. They all break.....

Not really. I had Lingo when they were still fresh and it really wasnt bad. But with unlimited calls on the cell phone, it's my need really. If you're a heavy log distance caller, certainly worth it.

I've been thinking about going back to my old GZ'One water proof flip phone. I really do like the iPhones, started with a 4 when I got rid of my Motorola Droid, now have a 5 & it's great. Everything else I have is Apple/Mac, Macbook Air, Mac Mini as my media center, the wife has a Macbook Pro that her job paid for & a Apple TV in the bedroom. I will never go back to any windows based PC's, for years I had nothing but issues. A few times per year I would need to backup the PC, format the drive & reinstall whatever version of windows the PC was using. I need to give my iPhone 5 to my wife before I destroy it at work, plus I want her to move up from her 4.

I know in & around major cities (Houston, Dallas, Austin & San Antonio) the prepaids that work on Verizon's system work well. The only issues I have heard from a couple buddies that have them is once you get away from the major cities the coverage can fluctuate some. Hell, for $45 it's worth trying it out for a month.

It's called bandwidth allocation, depending on their contract is what you will get.

Verizon gets Verizon CDMA tower priority & so on for Sprint or GSM.

All the Crickets just lease a certain amount of bandwidth. Some work pretty well though

Yeah, it's hard to do something ground breaking now. The 5s does have some innovation. First ever fingerprint recognition - ehhh, not too bad. It is new
