True that. its only fair that they get no pay too but I don't think that is happening. They wouldn't be hurt by that anyways. They all have much more wealth than any of us regular people. Even the least wealthy of the house has far more wealth than I'll ever have. Senators are nearly all independently wealthy and don't even need income from a job. Sickening.

The paycheque they get from their congressional job is nothing compared to the money they pissed away in order to get that job. It's really the kickbacks and bribes that make the job worth having. Even if they weren't outright taking bribes, they still had to make agreements in order to get the money for the campaign to get elected. If only there were a way to take the lobbyist money and the bribes away, we'd be set.

Lol. I thought this was a joke about hpta shutdown. I don't care if the government shuts down. I own guns and know how to use them so I don't need police. I'm not receiving a damned thing, never have. All I do involving my government is give 33% of my gross income and I'm sick of not getting a return. It can shut down forever. I can't think of a faster way to induce government change than to fire everybody and create a new system.

It's a bad time for them to pull a move like this. Everyone is down in the dumps and is really going to careless about this shutdown. It would be like Donald Trump complaining about losing 100K in the stock market, who gives a #@$.

The debt ceiling debate should be a lot more interesting. I wonder how that will turn out.

The problem is the decision to raise the borrowing limit is usually divorced from lawmakers' legislative decisions that will necessitate future debt limit hikes.
It would be much better, to authorize debt limit increases at the same time that Congress passes bills to raise spending or cut taxes, both of which can add to deficits.

that makes to much sense, hence never going to happen.

Congress still gets paid Durring the shutdown.....

This is happening because the republicans want to delay obamacare. They said they'd rather have the American people pissed at them now then let obamacare fail and bankrupt us. Obama is saying "fvck you then..... I want it in so ill hold out"

IMO he's an asshole. You want to reform all of healthcare in a couple years? U can't just say okay let's delay this to make necessary changes?

The ripple effect harms everyone. They are hurting the normal day to day employees that have nothing to do with the problem. They in turn will spend less and that will effect the retail market. So on and so on. If they want to shutdown, work from the top down, not the bottom up.

I know this. I just love to bash the government at every opportunity!

On that note since I'm not a government employee do you know what has changed for me on the first.day of government being shut down? Nothing!

I guarantee they will still take 33% out of my next pay check though, even if nobody is there to deposit it. ****ers!

as this drags on, both sides will feel increasing pressure to solve the issue. it should be a self-limiting problem. hopefully its just a matter of time.
