Couldn't be happier with making the change to pc gaming. You just have to have a pretty powerful pc but I always do anyway
I was a BIG BF3 guy. So much so I build a custom gaming machine to be able to run it in all its glory. Looked great but was buggy as #$@#$. How is BF4? I really don't have much time to play like I use to so am up in the air on buying it or not.

I have no problem running it on ultra and no lag at all. You will need a decent machine to run it on though. I was a big bf3 guy as well and I am really enjoying bf4. I am running the i377 quad core processor, nvidia's Gtx 670 video card, 32 gigs of ddr3 ram. The video card has 2 gigs of DDR 5 ram

Nice setup Jim. That 670 should be able to play any new titles you throw at it for awhile.

Yeah as long as I update the drivers it plays them just fine. There was a driver update last week and after the bf4 update I noticed right away something wasn't right. Updated the video drivers and boom it was running flawlessly again

    Gigabyte X58A-UD3R rev2.0
    OCZ Vertex 2 SSD 240GB

And I feel even that's outdated.

    - X force platinum plated nex-gen 6128 video card (I had flown in from an alien colony one galaxy over)

It's like buying a new car. The minute you drive it off the lot you lose a few grand in value. Gotta start somewhere though. As far as the ps vs Xbox ps4 all the way.

No kidding. How do you like those SSDs?

I have that same power supply, but modular. Great brand.

Man, with BF4 on Ultra, you gotta have some good cooling going on. What's your processor temps on load?

Neither, always hated games that I need to play with some sort of "controller". PC for me!

    Thanks

SSD's are a whole new world. Everything loads a lot fast compared to HDD.

I have a SSD in my new Mac Book Air. Yup, it's pretty fast. Not exactly a gaming machine though.

The SSDs are pretty fast, but their storage capacities aren't there yet. You can fare pretty well getting a hybrid drive.

Solid state is great for load speeds. It's to bad they are not bigger yet. I always run 2 drives. One for my windows os and another for data and other os's

Same here. I picked up a 120GB SSD for $80. They also had a 1TB SSD for $629. They make a huge difference in load times.

Right but once your os is up and running I don't notice a huge difference with data. Just going to have to wait for the prices to come down before its worth the investment to George bigger ssd's
