Ugh, KISS is horrible. A joke, musically. Great businessmen, yes.

I'm not saying I'm really a KISS fan and I did like Nirvana but KISS were rock icons. Nirvana became famous because of drugs and suicide.

I'm not a huge Nirvana fan, but your position on them is just silly. The helped usher in a new era of music during a time where rock was completely boring, tired (e.g. late 80's rock, hair metal, etc.). They brought simplicity and emotion back to music.... raw and introspective. Bands like Nirvana, Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, Smashing Pumpkins, Radiohead, and (as much as it kills me to admit) Pearl Jam... all to thank for brining rock back into the limelight.

I think you might be missing my point or I likely am not explaining myself well. I agree that they were a huge influence on a new all be it short lived music era but I don't think they deserved 1st round consideration while a band that produced hit albums for over a decade, waited 15 years.

By the way, as much as I love ya man, saying that 80's hair music was tired and boring is grounds for 1000 lashings lol.

I didn't forget; I just wouldn't list Metallica next to those bands. Different genre of music all together, different era for the most part. Those bands all loosely fit the grunge genre; Metallica doesn't. 80's and very early 90's Metallica is some of my favorite metal though.

lol. Never liked it. In fact, pretty much hated it. Bon Jovi, Warrant, Poison, Cinderella, Skid Row, White Lion... ugh - they destroyed metal... a complete embarrasment to the genre!

Now, if you wanna talk about Slayer, Nuclear Assault, Testament, etc...

NO! I liked then about the least. Also did not like Bon Jovi.

Ratt, Motley Crue, Faster *****cat, Poison, Warrant, Cinderella, Skid Row...I could go on all day. The gratuitous sexual innuendoes in the lyrics just dropped panties in the 80's lol

No...didn't like Stryper and the only thing good about Whitesnake was Tawny Kitain crawling on the hood of a car.

Didn't Nirvana hold a record for the most songs that you couldn't understand a single word sung?

One good thing about the grunge bands is that they made my flannel shirts come back in style.

No, no, no, Nirvana was good, especially since there were from Seattle where a lot of good bands have come from.
Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, Mother Love Bone, Mudhoney, Candlebox, TKO, Heart, Sir Mix-a-Lot to name just a few.

The only good bands to have come out of the grunge movement:

AIC, Soundgarden, and STP (to a lesser degree). The rest are forgettable IMO.

CANDLEBOX!?!?! They weren't even part of the grunge movement. They came afterwards... part of that pvssy neo-gruge 2nd wave BS (Bush, Creed, etc.). Soft, commercial garbage with no feeling.

Poor Candlebox. They came out looking like a hair band but from Seattle and right about the time the first wave of Grunge was ending. They just didn't have a chance. I really liked their first album and still do. It was all down hill after that.

This might be the only post you've made where I agree with everything in it. That's the only song KISS that was good.
