Quinoa ?
Any one else eat this stuff. I love it we get the dark quinoa from the health food store. It's pretty healthy option.
It has a high-protein content, and its great cholesterol-free and is low in fat. According to the USDA nutrient database, 1 cup of cooked quinoa (185 g) contains 8.14 grams of protein. To put that in
I put mine in pasta sauce with minced onions/garlic and a little bit of cheese melted all together

Hmmm I will have to look into it also. My wife also being a HAW likes to eat rice 3+ times a day. I will have to see if I cant get her into this instead and also look into how it's grown. Might be a $$$ crop idea for the Philippines.
Sounds interesting. Outside of consumption as a food, including as a detergent for clothing and washing and as an antiseptic for skin injuries

Costco has big bags of it for cheap. We have been eating it for 2 years now. Make sure it says pre rinsed on bag. The other stuff has an after taste no matter how long you rinse it

Btw it doesn't 'hold' things (sauces etc) as rice or pasta does. It's much more fragile. A bit more like cous cous.

Mostly plain. Or with a few finely chopped stir fried veggies run through it. It's tasty enough on its own though.

Damn.. you hippies may be on to something here. I'm gonna have to try it out. Eating rice 3+ times a day has gotten real old.
As far as the pronunciation, I call it "kwee no" like the Bud Light commercial. Drives the gf nuts, it's rather comical.

I have recently noticed some pre packaged blends using Quinoa, rice, other grains. Price is higher for the convenience factor.

Just a heads up...A lady friend of mine had a quinoa salad a few months ago and could not stop farting for about 5 hours after eating it. She was convinced it was the quinoa as everything else she ate that day was in her normal eating plan.
I eat it occasionally and don't find it affects me much in that area...prob wouldn't bother me if it did anyway ha

My local store sells a product that is 50/50 quinoa and bulger wheat. I make it and add chopped roasted chicken toward the end of the cooking time. Pretty tasty and lots of protein to go with the clean carbs. The kids even like it.

Cold quinoa salad is usally the way I go...with craneberrys, some type of nut, peppers onions and a balsamic vin .but have done a "fried rice" with quinoa which was awesome. ..or plain with salmon goes well.
While back there was a good thread in the recipe section in the nutrition forum for different ways to cook.
