Is it OK if I/they sneak up behind you, tazer you and use duct tape instead of handcuffs? Handcuffs can chafe and leave marks.

That's the problem with people. You see, what I asked was a question. Notice the question mark at the end of the sentence? I did not make a statement claiming what you said. Please do not put words in people's mouthes. If you are unsure of something.........wait for it..........ask a question.

My mistake. It was more in jest than it was attacking your post. Will do...

I was talking to an ex cop the other day and he said the NYPD was wrong in the way they approached the situation.

Apparently staten island (the place where this happened) have harsher cops because nothing really happens there and they need the summons/arrests to meet their quotas

My ex cop friend said all you'd have to really do is talk the guy to go to the police station and it'd probably would have turned out ok if you did so

Bullshit. Nothing happens there lol Go listen to a Wu tang clan album and tell me nothing happens in Staten Island.....

The black community in lots of the parts of the city are animals and everyone is being so politically correct and afraid to say it. Not only do they need to get on the police they need to start to get on their fellow neighbors to start contributing to society. There is more bad bringing down the good and instead of calling out their own race they point the finger. Thats why they will never get ahead.

The man that died had 6 kids and 2 grand children at 43 and is selling loosey cigarettes and a rap sheet longer the ron jermeys brajol? You can come in with the best intentions as a police officer and no matter what your attitude is going to become jaded dealing with uncivilized people day in and out. My best friend a black NYPD cop was so soft when he started the job and he is so negative now.

A video surfaced a week after this of a black nypd cop kicking a black man while being handcuffed by either a white or spanish cop that was trying to waive off the black cop but some how its not making the news. Sharpton comes and immediately stirs the pot turning this into a race thing. He always is around when a camera is there. I would love to know what kind of money he gives back to his people. He plays them like pawns and they eat it up.

There are two different areas in NY. The parts with constant crime and then the income producing areas. The more tickets you give the better the area you stay in. I can assure you the percentage of people paying tickets in black areas are probably low. This is the reality of what its like.

It was ruled today. His death was a homicide.

A police source said the ME’s ruling that Garner’s death was a homicide does not automatically mean Pantaleo will face arrest.
“The ME’s report is one piece of the puzzle,” the source said. “You’ve got to look at the totality of the incident. There’s no timeline on whether it does or doesn’t go to a grand jury.”
Another police source familiar with the probe said the DA could have a difficult time making a case.

“It’s going to be a tough case to prove intent. He was acting within the scope of a police officer. They may charge him and convict him on a lower charge if they can prove his actions were reckless,” the source said.

    Please excuse my language.

    But it was ****ing sickening.

I respect the police I know they have a TOUGH job and it is job I wouldn't want to do.

But there was NO need to kill the man.

When you have somebody in a rear naked choke (headlock) that alone is enough to restrain and hold somebody down. You do not need anymore force!

    Happened to me myself.

Once at school I almost did something very tragic, was playing football(soccer as Americans say) and me and this boy got into a fight I had him in a head locked squeezed hard and didn't let go.

Everybody was telling me to let go, I didn't, I was in rage, and then he ended up having a serious neck injury.

I got suspended from school came back all moved on.

But the point I am making is when you have somebody in that choke maneuver you are 20 seconds away from being a murderer!

This was blatant racism, no question!

And yet America is up in arms over Ray Rice hitting his wife, but not up in arms over this?

Just shows the priority of the world doesn't it.

What a DUMB, DUMB argument. Let's discuss brain health, because several of you have some serious complications.
May not be exactly what you're implying but his physicality/sheer size certainly had to do with the way he was handled by the officers which in turn led to his death, yes...

Either way the cops in the video are pieces of shit and this man's death isn't justified by any means. F*ck 'em

Not sure about racism but agree with everything else you said.

This is really the issue. Most qualified people will not do this job.The death of this man is being talked about every where.

The second part....Whats really interesting is that our politicians that have nothing better to do are saying his punishment is not enough.

Part of me thinks the cop will just get fired but I think he might be made an example of as it will seal the black vote for the Mayors second election
