    Going fishing???

A friend of mine asked me to go fishing with him and I turned him down because I just cant see the point in it at all. Does anyone do any fishing and what kind of enjoyment do you get out of it??

It's not about the fishing, it's about the beer.

All depends on the type of fishing. Going out and catching a 2 Pound bass....isn't much fun for some.

On the other hand having to fight a 100 pound grouper from the bottom of the ocean for 20 min is quite fun in my book.

Never did anything.major but imagine fishing and hooking a few hundred pound marlin, sword, or hailbut. Even a shark.

When I was younger, this isn't really fishing, but catching a wrestling alligator was really fun.

have you ever caught a fish or gone fishing before?...I find it fun cus it slows life down a bit and lets me enjoy the beauty of nature that I take for granted because I see it every day living in the northeast...its fun seeing whats on the other end of the line when you catch something cus you cant see it at first and you can tell by the pull if its a big one and its also a challenge to get it in the boat...I don't know maybe im just a redneck...

Must have never got basszilla. Trying to land a largemouth in the boat over 5lbs is probably one of the most enjoyable things there is around. And if you ever happen to catch a 10+pounder you will literally shit your pants.

I love fishing i've been doing it since i was 10. When your in the wilderness it is so peacful get away from the stress. Trout & salmon fishing is what i do it's fun when you have a wee comp with your brother or your mate fly fishing though but when with ma wife & girls it's normal fishing.

Even fishing for smaller fish in a lake is nice and relaxing. Think of it as getting away from the regular world for a day with a friend or two and relaxing on the boat having some good conversations you might not otherwise have.

And if you catch something good, the fish always taste better when you catch them yourself.

Didn't you ever go fishing with your father as a child?

Now guys that bass fishing looks good fun. I've seen that on a fishing program and it is really competitive.

12lb largemouth at clear lake,ca. 100lb+ Sturgeon in the delta. The fishing around he is amazing. We have a ton of great bass lakes and the California delta also which is very similar to Florida style fishing.

As a kid I use to hit Salmon in the head with big rocks as they swam up river to spawn, does that count?

I also tried trout fishing a couple of times and even though I caught fish it just didnt seem like much fun.

I did enjoy deep sea fishing though.

A man calls home to his wife and says, "Honey I have been asked to go fishing at a big lake up in Canada with my boss and several of his friends. We'll be gone for a week. This is a good opportunity for me to get that promotion I've been wanting, so would you please pack me enough clothes for a week and set out my rod and tackle box. We're leaving from the office and I will swing by the house to pick my things up. Oh! And please pack my new blue silk pajamas."

The wife thinks this sounds a little fishy but being a good wife she does exactly what her husband asked. The following weekend he comes home a little tired but otherwise looking good.

The wife welcomes him home and asks if he caught many fish. He says, "Yes! Lots of Walleye, some Blue gill, and a few Pike. But why didn't you pack my new blue silk pajamas like I asked you to do?"

The wife replies; "I did, they were in your tackle box."
