Bodybuilding myths that you used to believe were true...
Ya'll ready for this? We all had to start somewhere and a lot of us probably believed in some pretty stupid shiit when it comes to building muscle. My funniest one was I had an older friend who I used to lift with, and he told me that if you ice your balls it kills sperm, so your body would have to produce more and therefore your test would increase. Had 3 guys at the gym agree with him who he didn't know. I ended up on the floor of my room with a bag of ice against my balls lolololol your turn?

Shit, I got pages
HCG Cuts you up
You get instant roid rage
You can turn fat into muscle
You will full on loose your marbles & go Benoit after getting on juice
No one does steroids any more
The cheapest cycle will cost you a thousand Bucks
Your muscles are fake and not the same as natural muscle
When you stop, you will get smaller than you were before you started

I used to believe that losing body fat is harder than gaining muscle.

I started lifting when I was 12, so when Pops said something, I listened.
He told me you don't want to get too big else you will get "muscle bound" and you won't be able to take your shirt off or scratch your ear.
truth is, he didn't want to lift, and knowing how I stick to things for years on end, didn't want me to be muscular and something he would have to deal with one day.......

The longer your training session the bigger you get.

Myth: If I trained big and ate big I'd get big
Reality: I got fat and strong
Myth: You can do everything you want to do with diet and training.
Reality: You can't do everything you want to do without gear.
Myth: If you do more sets, you'll stretch out the muscles so they'll grow.
Reality: You'll be the guy in the gym that does 40 sets a day and always looks the same.
Myth: Cardio kills your gains.
Reality: Only you kill your gains. Cardio+Training (year round) = better results
Myth: You have to squat ridiculously heavy to build big legs.
Reality: You have to stimulate the leg muscles to build big legs. A lot of guys out there build big legs squatting in the 225-315 range and no more and do the rest with hacks and other movements.
Myth: You should always use full range of motion or you're cheating yourself.
Realty: Full range of mothin is a little different for everybody, arm length affects this a lot. On downward motions, if you're shoulders end up behind you, you went too far and took all the tension off the shoulders or chest. And going all the way on a press to where your tricps completely takeover is equally pointless. Find that range that keeps full tension on the muscle you're training. Do this and you'll be weaker than you realize you are. But in time, as those muscles become stronger you will pass your past sticking points significantly.
Myth: I have to spend hours a week on core exercises.
Reality: If you're lifting properly, nothing strengthens your core and overall development like BB military press, Incline press, squats and dead lifts. From there, do a little ab work if you want to. Some of the best looking bodybuilders I've ever known do not do a single situp or crunch.
Myth: Straps are for pussies and you're taking away from your back workout and neglecting your biceps.
Reality: My back training stay more proper, I can use heavier weight for that back training and focus all on the back muscles I'm hitting. I'll then worry about biceps when I train biceps.
Myth: If I take all the gear my favorite bodybuilder takes and train just like him I will be just as good as him.
Reality: I will still be me, a shadow of what he is. Why? His genetic response to gear is light years ahead of mine and nothing can change that.
Myth: You can't drink diet soda when dieting, it will make you fat.
Reality: You can drink all the diet soda you want when dieting - eating too many calories is what makes you fat.

When you guys first started, did anyone else figure "oh a couple months of this and I'll be totally jacked?" I really had it in my mind that I was different from everybody else who has ever lifted a weight. Boy was I wrong hahahahaa.

A friend told me that arnold had a disease called frankensteinitis from long term use of steroids . And that he had to get surgery to reduce his jaw, forehead and brow line. Oh to be young and naive
Sounds like an old wives tale.
