Thx. Timing comes into play....Is the candidate the right person for the org at that time. Org needs change....

It's Monday....all sorts of 'destroy that interview and take charge of that position' successful thoughts sent your way. Wishing you the absolute best cause as you grow in your training you continue to grow in every other aspect.

Interview had been delayed. It's next week now. In meantime I am seeking option for another position which is better long term. This second request is not advancing thru system as fast as I had hoped. I was told no last week.

I met with leadership today and said I am willing to withdraw my initial request for option to only interview for second. This caught then off guard.

This request is now going forward....waiting...... and second deadline quickly advancing.

It's not helping matters that I am considered a high performer. If I was a sh!tty employee they would likely approve both. Sad but true.

I know ppl who are rich and very happy. I know ppl who are happy and poor. It depends on their level of content.

There's a level of poor that involves hardship I would not wish on my worst enemy.

Western poor is you have a roof over your head food in your belly a mobile phone in your hand and your a slave to the banks.

I would class my self as "mono" I'm not poor but i have more than most. I have zero debts. i own a home its prob worth about 600-640k. But i will never sell it so its value is useless to me. And i have a 15% stake in a strawberry farm. I have no bank account no credit cards. I only use cash. I don't like records of things that i buy its a liability. Net worth means nothing when you don't have 5 cents to rub together. My net worth is probs close to 2million aud. but i only physically have 22k.

    What about you gym rat?

You must love your job to keep working if you don't need it.

Not love. Have more contributions to make. I volunteer and give to selected charities. I have a greater purpose then just working.

I love how a company holds a person back because they are a high end performer. That's the whole point of working smarter and harder than others around you. To get ahead be promoted get bigger piece of the pie so to speak. It's bull shit Imo. I was an engineer for 17 yrs for a tier one company and it got to the point where oh we can't promote you we need where you are you are to valuable to us where your at. Well why the hell have I been working 12-16 hrs a day 6-7 days a week. Sorry for the rant!! It would be nice to see deserving people go getters get what they deserve. I hope you get what want it sounds like you have been working for it. Good luck again for good measure. Ha ha!!

The vision of a well built physique standing on a street corner spinning one of those advertising signs and dancing around is what came to mind when I read it. Sorry bout the misunderstanding but hopefully now you know why it made me chuckle.

I actually though about that long time ago and would still consider it under the right circumstances. I actually dove many times before getting certified finally about 6 or 7 years ago. It was funny most every time I went down with an instructor and group on some tour the instructor would always check everyone's oxygen during the dive and they most always looked at mine and then theirs and after sending up each person I would stay with them longer. Once we got to the surface they always asked me if I was certified because I use so little air.

The only thing with underwater welding is I have heard the mortality rate is quite high. Hopefully that has changed in the last 20 years. Also it's typically not in tropical conditions but is ice cold regions.

From what i hear you have to have so many qualifications. A qualified welder, a qualified underwater welder, a qualified diver, a qualified underwater first aider plus I'm sure many more. The only way to get in would be to wait for someone to die then smoke a lot of pole and pray. I heard they can make 600grand for only working 3 months of the year.
