anyone have one these?
I have a Prime account and looking to purchase one.
Is it worth the $40-50?

I have one, unlocked. It's hard to navigate, and on a 25mb/s Internet it buffers a LOT.
If you just buy a regular fire stick, it gives you access to apps. Some are free, but the good ones you have to pay a subscription.

Been using a Roku streaming stick for a almost a year, love it.
I also have prime, and can access amazon's stuff from my Roku.
Mainly use it for Netflix though.

I have the Roku also but the box, not the stick. I've never had it buffer even on dsl. I like the remote with headphones jacks.

Get the Roku. If you like Netflix, the same guys who made their streaming technology are the ones who developed the Roku. In case you want more of an idea of the set-up and stability.

You need Internet connection and that's it. No subscription to anything needed. If you want to keep Netflix or Amazon prime it will work on Kodi also. If I didn't have prime because of all the purchases I do I wouldn't bother.
Its free to download and try. How easy can you get? Just try it. I don't miss cable and especially the bill one bit.

I have a Chromecast which is similar. I have Netflix, Hulu, HBO Go accounts. Anything you watch in a Google Chrome browser (from your laptop, tablet, or phone), you can cast to your TV. It basically makes your TV your monitor. There is also a related app where I can cast from my phone to any computer in my house.
The Chromecast is a USB stick. I have it plugged into a dedicated channel of my receiver. $35 for the stick. It's alright, but I'll probably end up going with a dedicated device like Roku.

Actually firesticks are no easy for jailbreak. But if you follow the recommendations from this unbiased resource https://www.firesticktricks.com/jail...ire-stick.html , you will definitely cope with the task easily. After jailbreaking you can arrange your movies, TV shows and photos; you can install clever addons; and you can record live television. By the way, a guy I work with says he bought a jail broken Amazon fire stick from eBay. So this is another smart way out

I got one for my projector, pretty nifty. Mainly use it for Netflix but it has all sorts of stuff.

It's a smart TV with fire stick built in.
32" was $119

Actually you can watch most local TV now without cable service. There are TONs of apps out there to show your local channels and even most you would normally pay for.
I have since this thread started gotten a Firestick also, It's pretty good but I like the Roku better for watching my prime. The Firestick has more apps available and I also was able to put my Kodi on it and it runs better than the little android box I had before.
