I'm with Prox, we never had kids for lots of reasons, one was we like to do for ourselves and both like nice stuff

paying cash is over rated. depending on your interest rate. if i had the cash for the car, i still would have financed it

I agree about paying cash, depending on the interest rate, I'd rather keep my cash and make payments. I use to pay cash for lots of things, then didnt have the cash when some big busines opportunities came along. Wont make that mistake again, cash flow means everything

I am NOT an investment guru. If I don’t know shit, I ask for a professional’s advice. But, we (my wife & I) typically average around 7% interest on our investments. My car loan was around 1.9%. So for me, I didn’t put as much down as I could, but not enough to compromise cash flow. Agreed, got to be ready for everything.

As for kids, my father was an abusive a-hole & as I understand it, both my grand-father & great grand-father, the same. Couldn’t let my genetics possibly hurt my kid. But yes, a hell of a lot more money is available.

My most recent car was an A5 which i had remapped, isn't a fast car but pushed 230bhp so a bit of kick, also put some deep dish alloys on it which slowed it down even more lol but it needed bigger wheels...

for 95% of people,, this is actually just being stupid with your money (yes I'm pointing the finger at myself here).

had I properly invested all the money I've spent and blown on cars (and I only showed pics of a few) and motorcycles, and F350 Lariat Diesel trucks, and work trucks and Jeeps, and toy hauler trailers . etc etc..
I'd of been able to retire at 35 or 40

when I decided to sell all that stuff (other then the camaro and the cadilac cts), including my last big nice house.. I realized how much money I'd actually lost and blown over the years AND how much debt I had accumulated

I limit myself to having a couple nice things now and leave it at that (IF I can afford it) . plus being a gym owner and trainer only makes me about 10% of what I used to make (I'd rather make way less $ and enjoy what I'm doing for work though)

My dream is to build a nice house for my gf.
My trucks go through hell. I had to custom build my primary rig because they are impossible to find.

Only money I have spent on nice vehicles is SUV's for the family.
I love getting in a nice new clean rig and traveling while eating at nice places I can't afford. Fact is I dint make close to what a lot of you guys do but someday I will if I keep plugging along. I got no complaints or jealousy. Thats the american dream.
I have a chance same as any other.

In retrospect I would have had everything I owned including my house paid for at thirty if it wasnt for my divorce. I did good but I will do better this time.
A guy just has to go all in balls out. Things are pretty easy today.

Appearantly one can tell your entire body type off a forearm pic.

    I got a few cars.

    Nothing like these things though.

2004 GP 4 door - daily driver grocery getter.

1997 caddy sts - garage kept super clean. It's pretty fast as well.

1978 coupe DeVille. - clean 80k bought it on 24's that were promptly sold.

My dad used to have a 67 camaro that would run 10s in a quarter. Slicks, wheelie bars and the whole works. This was in the 70's and he put lead in the trunk to run in a different class. I love all the smells of a drag strip.

Yep nowadays you would have to dump tons of money into it to be really serious about it. I wish I had the money to fool around with it but I don't.

My boss has one and those things are a beast even if you're just driving around with kids in the back... They're fast as well i think the v8 model is bringing in plenty of power and they're awd so no 4x4 mode
Great in the winter and plenty of power under that v8

I wish they had a manual though, I'm old school that way i prefer standard trans

I see you're running it with the MSD ignition system have you see any issues with those? What's your current setup? Fully built block/engine or still a work in progress
    Either way it looks bitchin

What kind of rear end/gears are you running (if i had to guess 411s??), I'm guessing it took a few years to build it up?

Its got the msd 6 al2 ignition and coil along with the pro billet msd distributor i am very pleased so far with thr msd huge upgrade over stock junk
Everhthing is done on the engine and body, i only lack a few interior mods and a fully built rear end and suspension lol which is a few dollars...
Its an early 454 bored .060 stock crank and forged steel rods with arp rod bolts for the extra rpm....speedpro hyper pistons with a -30 cc dome compression is around 10.8 to 1...heads are large oval port 781 casting they are not ported the cam is a lunati solid with 612/635 lift alot more stuff that i dont have time to break into detail like the single plane holley intake and 950 ho mod carb which i love.... also has 2" coated heddmen headers car is extremely loud lol
I plan on 4 11 in the stock rear with just a mini spool and upgrade the moser axles thats really all that corporate 10 needs to handle what power im throwing at it im getting that done very soon
Id say 80 percent done this is how she sits now

I probably will. Used to be a Tahoe guy but no longer. Currently have the Durango RT (360 hp) and love it. Just want a little more....

    Nice engine pic
Ok,. I wasn't going to ask about the cam setup but sounds like you've done everything so far
Any videos of the engine running? How does that cam sound and how does it idle?

I've ran 411s on mine a long time ago and prefer it but it changes the driving a lot running those gears

What about the current rear end setup, you're running leaf springs? I'm not familiar with the corporate 10 rear end but its similar to the ford 9 inch or larger than that?

Out of curiosity are you running nittos on the rear?
    Cuz likes this.

    hahahah,, doesn't everyone
    There's never enough power
Why not supercharge the RT instead or you really want to upgrade??

Running MT tires as of now 315 35 17 street setup i have some drag radial 275 40 if i want them. The corp 10 bolt is 8.5 so its not as stout as a 9" but im not pushing 1000hp so im good....im changing the leqf springs to monoleaf and running the caltrac ladderbar setup. Then im going with a hoosier slick 29x11.50 with 4.11 i will put the 17s on just for car shows and such. Car has a choppy idle, sounds badass in person

ah ok, i thought they were nittos
the MT are just as slick on the track

    >choppy idle
Yea that was the word I was looking for but couldn't think of it.

I think you mentioned earlier running 10s the way it is right now, with 411s and a tire change/additional suspension work you think you'll break into the 9s?
Are you using an MSD2 step?
