What happened to these boards?
Seems like most people have left and there’s little activity, especially compared to before.

Social media is constantly changing. A lot of the younger generation seek their information on IG, Reddit, or Fakebook. Unfortunately, there's not a lot of experience on those platforms at times, and beginners get some bad advice or just plain get ripped off.
There's still a lot of us here. Remember, this is kind an unusual day with today being 9/11.
Traffic is slower at times, but the content is still here! There are 3 loves in my life: my wife, my English mastiffs, and my weightlifting....Man, my wife gets really pissed when I get the 3 confused...

Quality over quantity. I have been on many boards lurking before posting here.
Reddit is mostly 20 something year old dudes with limited knowledge. A lot of younger people are into TikTok so I think this board attracts a more adult audience that wasn’t born with a smart phone in their hand.
The people here genuinely give a darn about one another, and give advice that considers health implications instead of a “more is better” attitude. Those 2 things matter more to me than numbers.

Forums are dead for the most part. Social media and YouTubers have changed the game I think for the better. I know some will disagree but there’s more credibility with someone I can actually see than an avatar that may not really be someone. I think Tony Huge and Rich Piana really brought that into light.

Yeah it has changed things but not necessarily for the better. IMO it seems most of the youtubers are promoting what they are being paid to promote. Forums are still the best place to get real advice but it is nice having a video (youtube) to back up the claims such as making or fixing things.

Exactly. Until the social stigma of steroids are gone, you tubers and tiktokers are mostly dishonest.
Anyone heard of Jujimufu? He calls himself “the anabolic acrobat” but doesn’t talk about his cycles because he wants to stay famous. Rich Pianna died and most of the people alive making videos are lying about or omitting their steroid usage.
If I want to see a video about form for a lift, sure YT is better. But not for everything.

Yea they def lie about use and especially dose. But, think back about 10 years ago, and no one admitted they took steroids. At least now they admit use. The best YouTube channel or podcast I’ve listened to it’s the steroids podcast by Dan the bodybuilder. I think Tony Huge lies about dose for the same reasons the guys from the Golden Era lie about the low doses they took. It’s not safe and a good majority of the audience is more than likely teenagers. I know I would do the same thing… ya I only take one shot of test a week. (Even though that shot is a 5cc syringe)

Ehhh
It sucks losing support from “forum” type platforms for roids - for the newbs, especially. . . I’ve been around this shit for a decade, so I’m pretty caught up - but, I still come across new juice & health info - primarily on here
Since they aren’t actually “legal” there is no other place(s) to get info - seriously, where? YouTube, InstaCrap or fakebook doesn’t have any specific topic support
I’m still on multiple forums for specific shit(automotive, trade, health, etc.)

The problem is there is too much media to consume, from podcasts, music, news, tv shows, gossip. We have hundreds of TV channels and thousands of Youtube channels, who has time to read books?
There used to be a day where you had to look into an encyclopedia to find out what happens if a tiger fucks a lion. Now you just search that shit. The time and $ cost of producing media was so high that it eliminated garbage/gossip from being mass produced and distributed to the people. Same with music. You had to go an actual studio and record on tape, that you would have to have really good musicians play live while recording, no digital audio workstations. You had to splice tape and if you fucked up, you had to do it all over again. This made music better... it had to be that good in order to get released. Not all of it was, and music is subjective, but I'm just making a correlation. Over time, everything became easier and kids nowadays are bombarded with information and advertisements. I have bad enough ADD as it is, I'm not sure what I would have done if I had a cell phone like these grow up having now. It's no wonder we have so much depression, anxiety, and negativity in the media. We weren't built to take so much in on a consistent basis.
So for me, forums like this are good. I don't have to see a bunch of other bullshit when all I'm trying to talk to is some guys like me that run some gear here and there. I keep it simple. Don't need instagram, tiktoc, etc.

They're dying because these moron kids aren't worried about getting arrested for some reason and are fine doing shit like this on spy platforms like facebook and instagram. INSANITY. They can sweep you up literally whenever they want with almost no effort. At least with some of use it would take them prodigious effort.

I'm like you and still learn new stuff from the board regularly.
I have no social media myself, don't even own a Netflix account. Funny you mentioned specific forums, I just joined a Cadillac forum. I'm confident am one of the least knowledgeable auto people here, can't even change my own wiper blades.I no longer check my inbox. If you PM me I will not reply.

Worse nowadays is that people don't really want to help on the forums. They want to tell you to go pay for someone to tell you answers to questions. Which in theory I wouldn't have a problem with, I'd love to have a coach....but I'll be damned if they don't all use completely unsecure methods of communication that there's no way in hell I'm gonna play with. And I have little in person options given where I live, there just aren't any good bodybuilders around.

And I'm not necessarily saying THIS forum. There just don't seem to be a lot of people on here anymore.

That is a good point. A lot of people making videos are influencers selling products and that has a huge impact. they want to sell advice or sell some nutrition package or something. It’s better for them to pretend their diet made them ripped not other things if they are selling nutrition supplements.
There are some guys like vigorous Steve who give open juicing advice but it isn’t super common when people are marketing their own image as a product.

Go to Autozone. That 20-somthing kid changed mine in about 30 seconds for free.
The worst thing about youtube, etc is there is no conversation or ability to talk out a problem. This forum has helped me solve problems more times then I can count. ya, there's some unorthodox or mis-applied advice on occasion, but the longer you're around the easier it is to know who to listen to.

It became too political for me so I took a break. I’m not here to talk politics so I’ll just avoid it from now on. But I’m back now!

MSMs fault. They are turning the society. More feminism, woke, metro, new green deal and lots of other bs.
Hardcore is oldschool. Matcho is out. Even clothes from Gasp/Better bodies are out. Only me and maybe another guy use those in the gym.
Too much happening. Nobody have time to eat 8 times aday. And u dont need a 20 inch biceps to get girls or respect anymore. I mean...this summer i walked with a shorts only in the centrum. With my gf. And....well. People look like shit. Even guys in their mid 20s are skinnyfat. Expensive hair, glasses and clothes for sure, but thats it.
Im 50.....stil, i looked a million times better than all of them. Their gf sent me wet looks. All of them.
So there is no need anymore to study a steroid forum to cut it. 90s buff are not necessary anymore.
Each year test levels are shrinking. Poison in nature and shit. People then will look in other directions. They all turn woke. No real men left.
But hey....maybe it will be less war activity aswell.
But the skills of finding brilliant solutions will also degrade. As we see for Covid19. High test make things happen. If todays men had the testlevels of the ww2 guys, there would be no pandemi. With todays tech. Somebody would come up with a solution.

Still something to be said for being “old school”.
I wouldn’t trade the knowledge in this place for a 10000 Reddit’s, YouTubers or IG wannabes

I don’t even know how Instagram works. I hated MySpace, I hated every social media platform after it. I mean, can you really have meaningful discussions on there? I feel like with forums you get to know people and become friends. I don’t see that happening with Reddit, YouTube, or whatever… but maybe I’m wrong.
-
I have zero social media - this as close to social media as I get
I’m pretty certain that I can figure it out fairly quickly. But, my real life is full enough - I don’t need to post fake ass pictures to make myself feel better about my non existent life.
Never say never tho
Social media - is “social media”. . . It’s just another way to contact & track one another down
