    Jews

What did they ever do to anyone? They have been picked on since the beginning of time.Hell during WW2 there was a ship full of them who escaped the Nazis. But no one wanted them.Hell America didn't want them. But they ended up in a fort Ontario in a camp they couldnt leave.Sad how this was the way it has always been.I am going to be 65 and in all that time only 1 Jewish guy pissed me off.Only because he cut in front of me in line at a store.I think the worst part was he nudged me oout of the way.I was going to hit him but didn't feel like going to jail. But besides that I never had a problem m killing them. They are just like everyone in my mind.

Good point. Im not exactly sure. I really don’t have an opinion on jews, never bothered me before. Seem alright to me. I would side with them over terrorists, thats an easy decision. Oh and uh, I dont see any Jew lives matter or any demanding reparations from the holocaust…ahh well anyway. Crazy world we live in now.

The Race, religion, demographic of people. You are always going to get arseholes it’s just human nature. I don’t know any Jews or if I do I don’t know they are Jews and I have nothing against them. But it makes me think why have they been persecuted for many centuries.

I'm with you guys on not comprehending where antisemitism comes from, or why it exists.

I wouldn't recognize a person of the Jewish faith, if they came up to me and bit me on the nose...

I will say, there is this belief / stereotype of the "entitled" Jew... Perhaps there is some truth to that? Funny how a previous poster (TS sondog; brother, you are nearly 65 yo...??? I thought I was old at 58. Never give up the ghost.) mentioned about the Jewish person just cutting in front of them in line. I live outside the city, about 30 km, and stopped at the nearest gas station to my house in the night. When I was pumping my gas, I noticed this old model Lincoln Towncar, in great condition; something which you don't see in my neck of the woods. I walk into the area to pay, and there are these three Orthodox Jews (black outfits, sporting their earlocks hairstyle; straight from Central Casting in Shindler's List) inside. I get in line to pay, with one local guy in front of me, and off from the side, just as it is my turn to settle my bill, this older Jewish guy just puts his armload of snacks on the counter in front of me, steps in front and turns his back on me. I grabbed him by his shoulder and started spewing expletives in English. He and one of his friends looked a bit taken aback that there was an English speaker that far in the Polish countryside. Needless to say; I payed before they did. Talking to many Polish people, who have had dealings with these Jewish visitors; they all say that this was classic Jewish entitled behavior...

I would surmise that the genesis of antisemitism springs from the Biblical story of Judas diming out Jesus (I may be mistaken, but wasn't Judas a Jew?); at least this is what has been explained to me...??? This Biblical treason could perhaps have been the reason for past Pogroms. Also, many nations had laws prohibiting members of the Jewish faith from owning large tracts of land; they were prohibited from being farmers, when societies were far more agrarian in nature; thus they developed themselves in commerce, and were quite successful. This commercial success lead to a host of problems, primarily jealousy from the local people who had to trade with them. I don't know all the history. There are several members on here who could chime in and correct my historical inadequacies.

Certainly, one may argue that the group of people with the greatest interest in keeping antisemitism alive, is the Jews themselves. They gain a lot of traction, forgiveness and turning of a blind eye to their contemporary actions (persecution of Palestinians. aggressive posture in the ME, the list could go on), due in great part to their near European extermination in the last century. And of course, the creation of the Jewish State has ensured instability in an already volatile region of the world.

Great movie reference! Got to hand it to them, no Jews, no great Nazi characters in the movies without them.

    Being a Jew bag myself,

I’ve been lotts of research for my own personal growth.

It’s hard to figure out exactly all the way to biblical times. Then of course we can’t forget the holocaust.

But, I still don’t quite get it - it just helped form the attitude I have towards other people.

USSR yes, but not Belarus(StPetersburg) apparently real Russians don’t prefer “Leningrad” which it was called when I lived there

The Jews, Christians, and Muslims are part of the Abrahamic religions, monotheism....they believe in one God. These are the 3 biggest, main religions. Somewhere some nuts got it twisted. btw: terrorists can be any kind, not only those who have perverted their own "brand" of Islam. There was a jewish terrorist (an Arab Jew, I think they call them Sephardic jews from the orient), who assasinated peace maker, Israeli former leader, Yitzak Rabin, during the Clinton administration so Cuz doesn't know what he's talking about.

Also, after you've been picked on once, and bullied you start lashing out. I called it the pathology or impediment of being bullied. You start fighting and being more defensive. Hence, there are statistically, more Jewish lawyers who basically fight for a living and defend others than any other ethnic-religious group. Just like there are more black militants. Someone screws you over a few times in the beginning, you start being overcautious, defensive, sometimes hyper-defensive. "Never again" is a good quote the Jews used to be extra vigilant after the holocaust. I studied this extensively during college in Liberal - Democrat tough New York, and 1 of my favorite professors was a Polish holocaust survivor, so I know what I'm talking about. That same being defensive, a bit of a fighter, assertive, tough, etc., well that throws calm, mellow people off, and now all of a sudden they're thought of as uptight and a bit aggressive. Someone who nudged me out the way because subconsciously he acted that way, because he's learned to be a scrapper. Why? Because he's been picked on for a long time, so have his people.

Getting very disgusted with the outcry/protesting of the war in Gaza.

Where’s the protest/outrage against Russia bombing and killing civilians? How about China’s internment camps of civilians?

It’s a war, deal with it; particularly since Hamas started it & none of their Arab neighbors are willing to let them immigrate into their own countries.

This is ridiculous. Shut-up Gaza critics, let Israel level it, wipe out Hamas, & the concerned critics find someplace else for the Palestinians to live. That includes the West bank as well, boot them out. It’s time to end the façade of these populations existing together in Israel.

I agree. They brought this on themselves. They can thank hamas for what is happening there. Put yourself in the israelis shoes - they have to defend themselves and theyr people. I would do the same if i was them. No point arguing whether the land should be palestinians or jews, it belongs to the jews, they have historic claim, and most importanly, they have the possession of the land, wich they will never give up.

Up until today, I had never been in a synagogue.

About a week ago, I emailed the rabbi at the synagogue nearest to me, saying I would like to come along to a service. He phoned me a few days later, and oddly, said that he wanted me to send him a scan of my passport for security reasons.

Of all of the churches, temples, mosques, that I've ever been to, I've never been asked to show an ID of any kind.

So anyway I sent him my passport along with my police vetting certificates a few days ago.

So earlier today I showed up at the synagogue, and they ran a metal detector over me before letting me in, one of these:

I don't know if synagogues have had security like this ever since the Holocaust, or whether it's just since October last year.

In our area there are and have been for I’m not sure how long, armed guards outside. Not sure about the metal detectors. The antisemitism business is always an issue, but it’s ramping up due to the war.

BTW, the security would have happened well before the holocaust in the states as antisemitism ideology was hugely rampant.

I can read about genocide in Rwanda and Cambodia, but I can never really relate to it. I just see those people as 'not similar to me' and it doesn't really affect me.

But the Holocaust . . . they were rounding up engineers and scientists and doctors, people with driving licenses and mortgages, people who had bedrooms with cupboards and wardrobes with tennis rackets and dancing shoes.

I've got my Kindle here and I just bought another 3 books my concentration camp survivors.

Yes, they took our US Eugenics program & racial policies to a new level.

It’s really quite a shame that the US didn’t increase its immigration allowances even after knowing how badly the Jews were being persecuted. And yes, it was the fact that many of those Jews in professions such as law, business. finance, medicine, etc. would take away American jobs (and it didn’t help that we were just out of the Great Depression).

I like reading about the USA’s involvement (or lack of), prior to Pearl Harbor. I also was shocked to find out the OSS’s (now the CIA) involvement with the Nazis to end the war as well. Our (USA’s) change in policies pre & during WW2, could have saved a lot of Jewish lives.

I have grown up with and have Jewish friends.
It always starts that way right?
    So, onto the meat.
Point 1) There is a difference between Jews and Zionists. Jews practice a religion where as Zionists practice nationalism.
    --------
Point 2) Why do some Christians in America say Jews are God's chosen people? The Jesus I worship and whose actions are documented in the bible was sent to help Jews refocus on God, the Pharisees Sadducees and Essenes. I'll let a more biblically focused autist provide text and verse. Since those Jews did not accept Christ's ministry, are not those who did, the Jews later to be known as Christians, are the Christians not God's chosen people?
    --------
If anybody tries to throw some racists or other hateful shit on top of this comment I pre-disavow them and such base conclusions reached by such scum who think that's what they are reading from my question and comment.

Even though I've lived as a Hindu devotee in a temple, and even though I've visited two dozen churches, as well as a few temples, mosques and a synagogue, and even though I spend about a month out of every year in a Buddhist temple, and even though I have in my house several bibles, a Quran, and a Bhagavad Gita, I still hold the following opinion:

Religious people, by and large, are a bit soft in the head.

You put my comment up but dismissed all in context without the provision of a contexual or on the level response. Do some HW and then respond rather than a knee jerk response from our oppressive matriarchal culture. Do the work rather than just show up, NUTS hav'em and use'm.

Is it Morale or Moral and why do you think you have either? Show some fucking effort

“In the religious sphere the profession of a denominational belief is largely the result of education, while the religious yearning itself slumbers in the soul; so too the political opinions of the masses are the final result of influences systematically operating on human sentiment and intelligence in virtue of a method which is applied sometimes with almost incredible thoroughness and perseverance.”

That sounds so smart I keep having to turn on my computer, go to this forum and read it day after day in order to try to figure it out. Wango, did you come up with that or can you provide a reference?

Oddly enough it was Adolf Hitler from Mein Kampf. I’m on chapter 2 and just read it. Occasionally there are some extremely clever statements. The same with his humor. And no, I’m not pro - Hitler, I’m just being objective.

Since this recent war, I’m really approaching the topic of Jews and Israel from a lot of directions.

The thing I “admire” Hitler for is his speech-giving talent (not the content) & his ability to captivate his audience. His writing style is really interesting & you can see that same flair.

Again I’m not being pro-Hitler, but the man had a gift & it’s easy to see how he can captivate people. And damn, does he come up with some smart & clever quotes. I’m going to need another highlighter & more sticky page flags as I’m only on chapter 2.

That said, I’m pro Israel & I hope they tear through the rest of Gaza ruthlessly, and control all of the West Bank.

Were you not apprehensive when you started out reading that book that Addie might be able to bring you around to his way of thinking?

No because I understand where his antisemitic ideas & rhetoric came from originally as he sure wasn’t original by any means. His only originality was to the extreme he took it. On one hand I can be impressed by his gift of oration, propaganda & charisma, but that is totally overwhelmed by the fact that he was needlessly murderous to achieve his goals.

I like reading about him/Nazis because I want to understand how that hate was tolerated & accepted and really still exists to this day. I’m honestly shocked at how many people are pro-Palestinian despise the fact that they keep choosing & accepting dumb-ass, hateful leadership. The anti-Jewish movement in the States due to Gaza has surprised me & pissed me off.

Which translation are you reading? I found the James Murphy translation free online:

    https://greatwar.nl/books/meinkampf/meinkampf.p

and I've sent it to my Kindle.

To be honest though, there are times in life when it's appropriate to throw the baby out with the bath water. So, irrespective of the alleged quality of his literary genius, I don't think I'll give him an opportunity to get me to see things from his side.

I find it both interesting and disappointing that the most frequented thread on an AAS / Fitness forum is this one...

Perhaps frequency is a reflection on the state of the forum, nowadays...

The quote was added after both your & Quester’s comments were made about religion & per Quester’s request of the author, I obliged.

The point of bringing up Hitler & Mein Kampf in a thread about hate for Jews is not to change your or anyone else’s regard for Hitler, but to try to explain how one individual could make millions of people around the world tolerate & perhaps agree with the fact that he wanted to eliminate an entire race.

I don’t find it disappointing at all. It is in a separate section that is dedicated & described as “off topic” and states its intent is to allow discussing whatever you want.

I find it encouraging that people can take time from their chemicals, training & diet & are able to discuss (without offending each other, nor introducing divisive politics) a war that is reaching 30,000 deaths & a renewed global resurgence in antisemitism.
