Are forums like this one and others now relics of the past?

I took a few years away from this forum and a couple others i won't mention here. Some of the others no longer exist and the post count here seems to me to have fallen off quite a bit. I still remember the days when questions in the Q&A would get or 3 replies before you could post one of your own.

Where did everyone go? I recognize a few faces but not many. What happened to all the postwhores from the old days?

The problem is streaming services like YouTube. Why would anyone young adult, with the attention span of a gnat, come here to learn about steroids and share what they learn during their actual research, when they can just watch morons on YouTube (like Mark Plummer) offer really shitty advice, bad cycles and just information that isn't true about gear. The point is those morons have charisma and offer their "solution" in a short 5-10 minute video.

It really comes down to instant gratification and somebody else doing the research for them. And it's not just happening to steroid -themed forums. But forums across the board. Nobody wants to read when they can watch videos.

What's left is us. the trolls and crazies (like Kimbo) and the few people who want to learn real info and experiences with gear. Most of the people in first and last categories are run off by the trolls and crazies.

Instagram and youtube killed the forums.

Recently began coming here again also and can say I noticed the same. Still a better place to research and have some interaction on topics than video though, even if the post counts are much less.

Nobody think to make steroid .com youtube?

There is still no better place to find real research and true to life experience than forums be it body building or for automotive. FakeBook, Instagram and Yahoo as well as of course the new China Tic Tok are just quick fix mostly fake new opinion and add whore dump sites IMO.

Our numbers may be low but the quality is still 100x better than the alternatives.

Folks have little incentive to add equity to forums and masses receive their knowledge transfer elsewhere. Perhaps dinosaurs like steroid dot com may have a resurgence as researchers utilize AI/ML to learn about AAS (and don't want a mainstream political filter interfering).

Forums like this are still the best source for quality information, period. This is likely because the user base here is serious about what we do.

Social media sites are hit or miss because they are all about the like count, not about quality info. Go take a look at some of the subs on reddit sometime if you want to see lots of posts, 95% of which are pure trash.

Totally agree. Reddit is a cesspool of shit information. But the fact is, the young bucks didn't grow up on forums like most of us did. They don't appreciate this form of communication. However, I wouldn't be opposed to starting a private/ invite only discord with our current close-knit community?

Social media is ruining alot more than just forums. Its killing our childrens minds. I absolutely hate social media. If you really think about, it has fueled our country’s division…

The guys lucky enough to come up and enjoy this forum are still here and as long as im in the sport ill be here and probably advise others when im retired.
But yeah, its over. Youtube, tik tok, facebook all that bullshit is absolutely flooded with “fitness influencers”

I don't understand why people are so attracted to Reddit, etc. unless they thrive on the drama. The information that I saw on a brief drive-by is horrendous.

Agree with everything stated. It’s a shame. I use zero social media other than YouTube. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I don’t think any other platforms allow people to connect on a subject like steroids or music or whatever and be able to actually know a little about them / not just a random person giving you a response that you’ll never hear from again. Seems like the social media platforms are just a bunch of anonymous people. And it’s based on “followers” which is kinda lame. Not to mention, if you’re not 100% PC you get banned immediately. It’s fine by me, though, I prefer smaller crowds where we can still speak our minds.

    Remember growing up without internet?

Remember having a night out on the bags and doing some dumb stuff but nobody had a mobile phone to record it so it basically never happened?

Remember when life was simple not being connected to others constantly?

Remember how it was fun to watch something on TV and wait another week for the next episode and not just indulge in constant gratification and binge watch?

Life in general has turned to shit in every way because the values of community and family have been eroded.

Also, the term ‘influencer’ shrivels my sack. Anyone who needs others to influence them is a sheep of the highest order. Looking up to others is a good thing like how a lot of kids did with Arnie but not how it being used in todays age.

As much as I hate islam, places like Saudi Arabia and Qatar are full of very happy people because they have traditional social values, modesty, morals and a general sense of right or wrong.

The west as a whole has lost these modest values. When I was growing up it was shameful to be on welfare, you only did it if you were desperate and it was embarrassing. But now nobody cares and people just want to take whatever they can.

I think that is exactly it. You will see people posting the same troll'y BS over and over. And people that are too effin' lazy to use google go there wanting to be spoon fed. There are a few users that know what they are talking about, but man, they are so MASSIVELY overwhelmed by dill-holes that it is insane. Talk about signal to noise ratios...

This forum is one of the greatest tools out there. Not only for proper aas use, but for dieting and training as well. I’ve learned more here on this forum than anywhere else. This place is a goldmine and if everyone else wants to get their advice from some idiot social media influencer then it’s their loss.

Thats my felling as well. I only belong to a few forums and only active really in 2, this one and another international forum about cars, 3000gt & Stealths. Good people over there as here who actually care about the subject and are there to help people. Most all of them feel the same way about all the Fakebook and Instagram stuff, its all drama. I think the drama feeds peoples endorphins and that keeps them going back.

I hate it when forums disappear. There was a site I was also very active on and had some great people called Pattaya Secrets. Yeah it was also a place for mongers, expats and info on where to find hookups but the main forum was real people you could connect with and I got to know several of them during my travels. Maybe in a way its good its gone because there were a few videos & pictures floating around that are probably best forgotten.

Agreed! Remember when we always wanted to watch the best NFL teams play the best AFL teams? Then when we finally could, it was named the super bowl & it was on a tiny 13 - 15” grainy B&W screen that you had to squint your eyes to figure out who was who, while adjusting the horizontal/vertical controls & rabbit ear antennas, fixed with tinfoil.

Plus gas was less than 60 cents per gallon and they washed your windshield & filled your car tires to boot!

Our sense of morality & family eroded well before our time. Have been hearing this stuff for over 55 years, move on already

One thing the community on this site has, which you will not find on social media is we're real people who call out people's bullshit. The broscience shit doesn't fly on here and if you make a claim, somebody is going to call you on it and ask for some proof. And that usually means actual peer-reviewed scientific studies/experiments get cited as a form of proof or a counter to somebody else's claim.

A social influencer isn't going to ever be called out on anything he says that is misleading or outright wrong. They regularly give very bad advice out and if anybody in one of their comments calls them on it, they delete the comment and ban the user. It's impossible to have any sort of honest discourse on the social media platforms.

And one thing people who do gear often forget is that regardless of how much experience we have and how much we THINK we know, at the end of the day, we're all experimenting with PEDs that have the potential to seriously harm us. With a community like this, where it's not about selling gear to people. When you have real people with real knowledge, experience and scientific studies, access to this resource allows people to make infinitely better informed decisions on the matter.

If Brian ever decides to close this site down, the whole of the AAS/SARMS world would be hurt very bad.

The 3000GT was my favorite car growing up, and still is if I could get a clean VR-4. I convinced my buddy to get one when we were 18. There was a forest green SL with less than 30k miles (1999) on sale for $13,000 at the time. He got it, but ended up trashing it being stupid and letting other people drive it. I swear once he got that car his life spiraled lol, ended up in the county jail for a little bit and then lost the car. By far the best looking 90s car imo. 2nd favorite is the e46 M3. Had the 330ci e46 which was my favorite car that I owned. Anyway, not trying to get off subject too much.

You know there's another side to this site too. I will not talk to friends and family about my use of gear. Certainly I don't talk about it at work or anything either. I mean I'm open about my HRT treatment with them, but that's different than using gear for extracurricular purposes.

Even around other people I am pretty sure (or know for fact) are on gear, I wouldn't talk about it ever.

So coming on here, for me, has been very therapeutic. It's kind of like taking a big weight off my shoulders. There's no stigma about being on juice here.

Same here. I even have a friend who is on HRT who we use to work out together 5x a week years ago and we dont talk about gear. I spent almost 1 year trying to educate him about HRT when he first started but since he was in the medical field (rep) he knew better than me. After a little over 1 year and a lot of up/downs he was finally doing EXACTLY when I had told him 1 year prior. lol

How many PCPs don't know shit about HRT? You'd think with how low testosterone levels in men today have become, it'd be in their interest to learn to treat it better, but most of them are just as clueless as the general population. Same thing with some of these peptides for healing injuries. And of course anybody who happens to work in the medical field, whether they're the guy who operates the X-ray machine at the hospital or is the janitor at a medical clinic, knows everything and anything when it comes to all things medicine-related.

Man, this place is like the Atari of gaming systems

I just checked(haven’t in years upon years) even ology is a gonner.

Social media is a bottomless pit of shit. But, it looks like it’s here to stay - it’s like VR to gaming systems

Although, sadly now - I feel like TikTok is a more credible news source. Surprisingly enough it’s way more PG than I expected. Prob is that people(like my son) get glued to that shit. I just take his phone.

Let alone, there’s no where to learn shit. Forums on different topics were so informative. Only forums that still seem to be alive are automotive related.

I'm a member on another forum, Gearspace.com. It's about music gear, not steroids . It used to be called "gearslutz.com" for 20 years, but they changed their name with the times. That forum is flourishing like no other. So... it seems not all forums are dead.

I think part of it depends on how long they have been out of school and what their school taught. I feel like a lot of PCP's dont do much to really further educate themselves after graduation except to learn what the latest and greatest RX is being pushed and how much of a kick back they will get.

I dont think any of us were thinking that. We all appreciate the you sharing information and respect you for keeping us up to date. Sharing is caring as they say and we are all pulling for you and hoping for a quick recovery.

As for TicTok I wont use it. Its one of those things I just had a feeling/knew it was created to be a user friendly virus. Yes there has been a lot of information about how it can/will steal all your information and I have no doubt it does. They just dont use everyone's and not all at once so there is no panic yet. It also has a very good/smart to keep track of what you are watching and keeps feeding things it knows you will like. Its basically like a drug that stimulates your endorphins so you keep clicking and clicking.

Pharmaceutical companies send out representatives to educate the PCPs on how much money they'll be getting kicked back if they prescribe their latest and greatest med.

If only they would "educate" the doctors on prescribing gear.
