gym etiquette
any of you bros go to a gym that is loaded with after-school kids? the f***ing kids at my gym show up in hordes and hang around all over the equipment and shoot the crap. i was squatting tonight and some idiot was "play" fighting with his stupid friend and bumped into me pretty hard . fortunately i was still warming up. after a pretty nasty threat he left. it makes me want to clothes-line them off the piece i need to use!!!!!!

He actually bumped into you? I would have flipped. Sounds like your gym needs kiddy hours.

yeah, i was on my way up and he bumped me in the lower back. it would have been a bad deal if i was in the middle of a working set. the gym is a hardcore dungeon and i thought the owner was gonna tear his head right off!

That kid would have been suspended from my gym, the owner is really picky about his clients. Hell the owner probably would have slapped the kid too!.

I hate that time of day. Its like a f**ckin' zoo in there. I'm with Doc. I would have been livid if that dude bumped into me during a set. You could have been seriously injured. Luckily it was a warm-up. Did he even say 'excuse me'?

That's not right.
It's inexcuseable. I hope he gets kicked out.

24 hour fitness is great. I go there around 12 or 1 am when NO ONE else is there except the ones who work out. Plus, the girls who are there are into working out and not into flaunting and trying to impress the guys.
That PISSES me off. Etiquite. Those lame ass chicks who comb their hair and dress nice and put on make up to go to the gym. **** THEM. They think they look so cute and sexy on the stair master without breaking a sweat. They should be kicked out. If you are gonna work out: wear sweats and a baggy shirt with your hair up in a pony tail. If you want guys to look at you: Go to a ****ING CLUB, not my gym

I hate when these kids come in 4 or 5 together and get in the way. They'll all work out together and yake like 5 minutes to work through a set. A training partner is fine but leave the posse mentality at the door. That kid should be banned for a few months as well as his sparring partner and any others who act like they're at the playground.

I was putting up some heavy weight on the incline bench and this kid bumped into the barbell, I almost dumped it. He didn't even say sorry just kind of shrugged. I almost had a coronary.

if anyone ever touched me.. even tapped me.. or blew on me during a set.. i'd definitely throw whatever weight i was lifting right at them without hesitation.

I avoid the HS kiddies at the gym like the black plague... my gym is right next to a HS that finishes at 14:20!!! It's bloody evil when they swarm in. Worse than locust.
Fortunately I usually just have to give them a dirty look and they scoot away.
Best for me is 6am workouts, or at noon. From 14:30 to 19:00 is a nightmare at my gym Late afternoon = kiddies, and early evening is the invasion of the flabby housewives...
Before 14:00 and after 20:00 is fine.

And here is the reason I love having a gym at my place of work............if you don't work here you aren't allowed in the gym. Even before an employee can workout in it they have to have a physical.
Now for the weekends I work out at a community recreation center and it's loaded with kids all the time. I was doing deads a while back and these high schooler's were clowning around (the gym attendent is a generally a college kid and really dosen't enforce any of the rules). I stopped and asked who in the group could do heavy deads. Two of them said they did them all the time. I stripped some of the weight off and said lets see it! All of them gathered around to watch as these two start to lift.........they were all silent as church mice. At that very moment I stopped the first guy and asked "why did you guys get quite all of a sudden?" of course they all answered "so our Dog could concentrate". I said BINGO, you'll be quite while one of your friends is lifting but you have no regards for others who are trying to do their lifts. Not to mention if they were rough housing and bumped some one by accident it could really hurt someone bad.....I used the squat for an example. We talked for a little more and by the time it was done everyone was doing there thing only a lot more quietly. Funny thing is the next time there were some other bros getting a little load it was one of these guys that went over to talk with them.
The attendant stopped me on the way out and thanked me for saying something to them............it turned out they were friends of his and you know how friends can be. Oh and the guys gave me a nick name.....when they come in they call me "Dead Man" because, as they put it, I'm the only OLD dude that does that lift. hahahahaha

Hell gym etiquette has gone by the wayside, especially at the trendy places. When I was a high school kid my mom bought me a membership at fitness usa and all those freakin guys would sit on all the machines while they talked about how much geritol and metamucil to take.
