Zelda was truly revolutionary in many ways, and in that respect may be the greatest original video game ever. But I remember having more fun with Metroid. Though the Mother Brain was surprisingly easy to kill - especialy after all that buildup.

my vote goes to the super mario bros...at the very least because of the franchise...i still love smb3...

and i just got the emulator with however many hundreds of games...a bit harder to play on the computer than with the controller, but still fun...

and mass...i had totally forgotten about king korn karn...lmao...

and don't forget the most unstoppable force in video game history...Bo Jackson in Tecmo Super Bowl! I used to run circles around the field...just run sweep right, and he'd break free, almost every time. Then, i wouldn't enter the end zone, until i had made at least a couple laps around the field...

Justin Bailey, hell yeah. That was a metriod code, it let see that Samus was really a woman. I think it also started you with the wave gun, and one mini-boss was defeated.

    punchout is the best!
I have an nes emulator for my pc, I have all the games, every once in a while, I will feel the need to take it to mike tyson and I fire it up. It is an awesome program, I bet there are over 200 games.....and its only 500meg, can you believe we were all so captivated by these!

I got that emulator too. I voted for punch out but I will say that zelda had me consumed for hours. I also liked the track and field deal with the power pad. Double dragon and battle toads consumed a lot of my time too. Skate or die? Great game also.

definately punch out...why? everything...the game play, the music, the inspiring story of little mac..overcoming adversity, beating the odds with his unbridled heart, unbreakable spirit, and jumping haymaker..even while standing at about 1/2 if not 1/3 hte size of his competitors...i mean ****, dvideo game character or not, the guy should have had a tv movie..

"and heres the story of little mac.
altho short in stature, his heart was unmeasurable...he took the hand he was dealt..and played a bluff all the way 2 the top."
(during this opening narration...camera slowly pans in towards a silhoutte under a dim light in a dingy gym, shadow boxing...theme music is qued)
"du....du nu-nu......du...du nu-nu....nu nuuuuuuuuuuuu..NAAAAA NA NA NA NA-NA, Ner ner, ner ner, ner-ner-ner-ner-neeeeeeeer, ner ner ner nu-ner, NEER NEER, NEER NEER, neer-neer-neer-neer-neeeeeer, du nuh nuh NEER NEER NEEEEEEER..DU NUH NUH NEER NUH NEEr neeeeer...."

uhhhmmmmm...anyways..sorry im really tired. but in all sincerity, punch out. because it kicks ayyisss, and 2 this day, with over a decade of playing it under my belt, i still love it.

It would be a sin if I didn't vote for excitebike! I really can't picka favorite, though, they are all awesome games. Tecmo Super Bowl is the BEST football game ever made! Contra, well, who doesn't love two player, side by side battles? Zelda was a new level in games with 360 degree play. I could go on for days, but will stop myself here.

BTW, I am not fortunate enough to have the NES emulator. Can some one hook me up?
