i was at my house today when a postal inspector and two police showed up with a package. they said i needed to sign for this package i wasnt expecting. it had my name on it and was sent to my house. i wasnt expecting anything though. the officers said there is a bunch of ampules? in it. what are those? anyway they told me they wanted to know who it came from and where it was going. so i talked to my lawyer and he said screw them. i invoked my power of attorney and they left. but they said they were coming back with a search warrant. can they do that? for someone sending me a package of who knows what without my knowledge?

my advice.. remove this harddrive and replace it with another. destroy this one.. and clean house.

i am locked out of an email account now too. they havent come back though. house is clean other then the computer. but i have several homes and not all are beautiful. is my internet even safe? or can they access the email account to see where it has been activated from?

yeah, sounds like they were very stupid cops, usually, if they were going to bust you, they would wait nearby till you signed for the package and then arrest you for accepting controlled substances, they wouldn't come up to the door and make threats

Well AD something dont sound right here. Cops aren't that stupid to show up and ask for you to sign this and its got amps in it.

They got your email account? How'd they even know you had anything to do with the internet? Maybe somebody you were haveing dealings with got busted and for leaniency they are leaking out other contacts. Maybe not the feds. Probably local police because the feds would not have showed up at your house asking what is this.

If they did seize an email account it sounds like someone somewhere is amassing enough evidence to get a search warrant on you. Them showing up at your door like that pretty much meant they had nothing but that package and that wasnt enough. They were relying on antimidation to get you to spill. I would count on them coming back for more questions.

But really they would have let it come to your house. Sign for it. Let it come in and then have a search warrant ready. Are the cops where you live really that stupid? Im not seeing this.

If they have probable suspicion presented to a judge they can subpoena your ISP and records to amass the evidence they need to get a search warrant and arrest warrant. Im still not getting how they know you even have anything to do with the net.

Be honest if this is all true AD this sounds like someone got busted and its rolling down hill. It sounds like it has to be associated with the internet somehow.

Usually when mail is intercepted i heard they empty the box and give you a letter... With you saying you're not expecting this package... Kinda a poor way to entrap you or something...
