Trojan Horse Virus
What is it, and what do I need to do to get rid of it.
Norton notified me of it's existence, as well as informing me it can't do anything about it. It says on an information page that it re-arranges the I.E. home page, but I don't even have I.E.(since the new hard drive was installed 2 months ago)

Do as spywizard said, by running that program (and let us know if it worked).
Also, not sure if it would help, but www.download.com has tons of programs, and maybe if you search for the virus there, it'll come up with a program to get rid of it.

Actually, here is a direct link.
http://download.com.com/3120-20-0.ht...us+&tg=dl-2001
I'm not sure, maybe one of those programs will help (if the one Spywizard mentioned doesn't do the trick).

Bro, virus checkers are good at catching viruses, but not so great for trojans and next to useless for spyware.
To each their own scanner
Viruses ... MacAfee or Nortons
Trojans ... TheCleaner (www.moosoft.com)
Spyware ... AdAware, SpySweeper, Spybot...
There is no "universal" scanner that does it all well. Each catches stuff the others leave behind.
For trojans I like to use TheCleaner, it does a fine job. To me trojans are the scariest things... with always on broadband connections the last thing I need is some jackäss rooting around in my computer remotely with some trojan that installed itself when I ran some crack or keyreg program.

You mean you people actually run anti-virus software? LOL my pc must be dirtier than an 80 year old whore. I am of the belief that you need only a firewall and you are reasonably well covered. Anyone have any thoughts on the matter.

have you tried deleting this file??
if you do so........ and restart and it starts again...
you are probably looking at a rebuild...
try using the os disc that might correct the sys files........
