I won't ask why you want to fuck with this . . .
Ah, sure I will.
For the benefit of our merry band of marauders, Nizoral is the brand name of ketoconazole, which is used to treat fungal infections such as candidiasis, oral thrush, and a host of esoteric fungi. It requires a prescription in the U.S. and is highly toxic, especially on the liver.
I see no anabolic use for ketoconazole; the only significant effect in this area is that, when taken in very high doses (way too high to be clinically safe), it has been demonstrated to impair (and even abolish) serum testosterone levels . (In other words, guys, it will wipe out your test levels.)
In my opinion, it does not have any value from a bodybuilding or weightlifting perspective. (In fact, you will not even find it listed in the A.R. drug profiles.)
So where and how can you get it? Obviously, from your local pharmacist, with a prescription, under a doctor's care, and with regular labwork to monitor hepatic and other functions. This is not a drug not a drug that non-professionals should be screwing with at all; it is certainly not a drug that should be self-prescribed (or self-represcribed, if you took it under a previous legitimate prescription).
All that said, welcome to the board, hdking.Last edited by TNT; 03-16-2002 at 03:32 AM.

Glad you cleared that up, bro. But you should know that when one names a medication without specifying the delivery system, it's usually presumed to be oral. Well, at least everyone learned something about Nizoral tablets.
Now, Nizoral Shampoo is available at any drug store, but requires a prescription. It's used to treat tinea versicolor; for more information on the condition, see this thread.
The reason it requires a prescription is that it is ketoconazole 2%. If you are absolutely sure that you have tinea versicolor and want to treat it with something over the counter, you can also use Selsun Blue shampoo, which is selenium sulfide. See my first post in the thread I referenced for more information.**

** In the thread I referenced above, gorilla refers to a 1% strangth of Nizoral Shampoo which is available over the counter. My source of information is the Physician's Desk Reference, which lists only prescription strengths, so I'm unaware of whether there is a Nizoral. Best bet: check any drug store.[/i]
