Some times you need to chang up the diet. Iyou need to make sure you keep high fiber in your diet. This is help you from binding up from all the protine.

You know, It's been on my mind as well and probably overlooked by most people. Fibre in your diet is also important for keeping your liver in check. Can help lower or maintain LDL so I'm glad you had the courage to bring it up.

Have a look at Movicol. When you mix it, It thickens and travels right through your intestinal tract in one bolus right the way through. It has no syllium or anything just a single bolus of water. Also helps to stimulate periastalsis, the the involuntary smooth muscles in your colon. We had a Sales rep present it to us. It's very different to Metamucal and you don't form a dependancy or rebound like many laxatives. We tryed it on elderly patients who have lost their natural periastalsis and it worke well.

Thats what it is, water, in a single bolus. Water is absolutely esential but re absorption of water takes place in the colon when peristalsis is slowed for many reasons, age, drugs and diet. With a single bolus of water, your periastalsis is stimulated thus easing your constipation.

Agree with some above suggestions...good H2O intake and good amount of fiber in the diet and that should help to regulate things...

    Good luck,

taking in fiber is great but just be sure to get plenty of water. thats what binds or mixes in the feces to make it softer. here very good site and explanation. hope it helps. http://www.mywhatever.com/cifwriter/...y/70/4939.html

Yup, caffeine should help. Might try coffee instead of the tablets. The warm water helps too.

I agree. Water. And i'm not being a smart a## but if i'm really constipated i get a burrito supreme from taco bell. I'm on the toilet in less than 10 minutes.
