What do you mean by "is it real"? Did you buy it from GNC? I'm sure it's real if you did. Would I use it in a PCT? Probably not. Just do a proper pct as outlined about 4million times on this site.

The only thing i would get from a supplement store is tribulus. But I'm pretty noobed out myself, so I'm not sure I'd take my advice. I can't say I know what that shhh-it even is... Even after reading the ingredients.

Thanks. I wonder if the doses on that study were increased if it would bring levels up enough to see a real difference. 20mg/kg and 10mg/kg is really low. That'd be like 200mg/day for someone that weighed 220lbs. The capsules are usually dosed at 750mg and the label says to take 2 a day.

I'm not promoting this by any means, but I am just curious.

yeah I get what your saying and you may be correct but my own opinion is that it would of had some effect, even a slight one, but it didnt

here is another study done on its effect on strenght in rugby players and also its effect or lack of an effect on the test/estrogen ratio detectable in urine, which if it did anything at all it would alter this ratio and therefore fail the drug test
    http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/17530942

if it worked it would show some sort of result in the above studys, low dose or not

    and another showing no effect

No, those posts were in reference to my tribulus comment. But I believe those GNC supplement pct BS supplements are garbage. Well, I wouldn't use them in lieu of a 'real' pct.

The first link you posted showed a small increase, but VERY small. I'll have a read on the other studies... Good thing I took statistics in college. Lol. The first sample size is too small to represent an actual population mean, anyways.

    Abstract
    OBJECTIVE:

The aim of the current study is to investigate the influence of Tribulus terrestris extract on androgen metabolism in young males.
    DESIGN AND METHODS:

Twenty-one healthy young 20-36 years old men with body weight ranging from 60 to 125 kg were randomly separated into three groups-two experimental (each n=7) and a control (placebo) one (n=7). The experimental groups were named TT1 and TT2 and the subjects were assigned to consume 20 and 10 mg/kg body weight per day of Tribulus terrestris extract, respectively, separated into three daily intakes for 4 weeks. Testosterone , androstenedione and luteinizing hormone levels in the serum were measured 24 h before supplementation (clear probe), and at 24, 72, 240, 408 and 576 h from the beginning of the supplementation.
    RESULTS:

There was no significant difference between Tribulus terrestris supplemented groups and controls in the serum testosterone (TT1 (mean+/-S.D.: 15.75+/-1.75 nmol/l); TT2 (mean+/-S.D.: 16.32+/-1.57 nmol/l); controls (mean+/-S.D.: 17.74+/-1.09 nmol/l) (p>0.05)), androstenedione (TT1 (mean+/-S.D.: 1.927+/-0.126 ng/ml); TT2 (mean+/-S.D.: 2.026+/-0.256 ng/ml); controls (mean+/-S.D.: 1.952+/-0.236 ng/ml) (p>0.05)) or luteinizing hormone (TT1 (mean+/-S.D.: 4.662+/-0.274U/l); TT2 (mean+/-S.D.: 4.103+/-0.869U/l); controls (mean+/-S.D.: 4.170+/-0.406U/l) (p>0.05)) levels. All results were within the normal range. The findings in the current study anticipate that Tribulus terrestris steroid saponins possess neither direct nor indirect androgen-increasing properties. The study will be extended in the clarifying the probable mode of action of Tribulus terrestris steroid saponins.

In bold they basically call b.s. on it

I know, in the numbers, the TT2 group showed minuscule increases over the control group.

Did the control group workout? If so dont you think that might explain the muscle increase?

In order for the study to be valid (other than the fact that the sample size was really small), all groups would have had to be tested under the same conditions.

Funny, I was just thinking of this crap since I can get it for free. My neighbors' GF is a manager of one of those. I don't really think it does crap, so I didn't even ask her for any.

I don't think it's a good idea to try to use supplement BS to help anything really. It's just a feel good, for the most part. Yet, I still take like a hand full of free supps. . . Makes me feel better, I think. . LoL

Supplements, in my opinion, are good to get nutritional value when you can't get it from your diet.

But when you get into juicing, use proper PCT drugs where they're needed.

I only follow the path that was walked by those before me... And I don't think any of them stopped and dug up a root to help getting their nuts back to normal size
