    Gloves

Who here wears gloves while lifting? I used to until some fool got under my skin and said calluses are a sign of lifting.

So I haven't warn any in over a year. The calluses on my hands are starting to split and bleed. This is kind of a bitch ey?

Before I used to sand them down regularly. But, recently I got too lazy and didn't bother doing it.

    So just wondering. . . . . .

I refuse to wear gloves out of principle. Around here the only people wearing training gloves are 130lb rats.
Training gloves for me just conjure this image of snotty tiny twats that get in my way at the gym. That kid that is trying to chest press the 30lb dumbells but semi flying/pressing them. Or doing barbell curls in the squat rack.

I do appreciate they have a place for proper lifters. Until my hands can't handle the bar though, I'll go at it bare handed!

I wear them for better grip while lifting and doing pull ups. My hands tend to sweat alot so without them i lose grip. Btw krugerr I'm not 130lb rat. More like a 210lb lion.

I did say they have a place in proper lifting!

My gym is a UK college gym. Lots of very small 17 year olds, all decked out in brand new sports gear. They use straps/belts/gloves for everything. 4 years of this gym has just ingrained this image into my head!

Ithink that's how every newbie is. They spend all their money on clothes for the gym and don't know what they're doing lol. I'm the guy that wears sweat pants and a plain t shirt. I hate the material of the so called " dry fit" sports clothes i

Exactly how I feel, but my hands look like I am 65 year old iron worker.

I don't see the use for gloves and never have. In my mind the only guys using gloves at the gym are the guys who work on a computer and get manicures once a week.

I remember when everyone wore gloves. Then Arnold did a quick interview and said "Gloves are for the girly man". The next day no one was wearing gloves.
