Why did I get fat coming off? Should I cut or jump back on?

So I'm 34 years old. 5'11, 209pds. Trained natty since 2010. I just finished my first cycle last December of 500 mg test e weekly and 30 mg dbol ed. Originally planned 12 week cycle, but I had some test left over so it ended up being approx 15 weeks on.

Gained about 17-18 pounds while on. However My body did not respond to my pct it seems. 2 weeks after last shot of test, I did clomid and nolva for one month. Something like 100/100/50/50 for clomid and 40/40/20/20 for nolva.

I finished that at end of january. I am now fat. I have a belly and love handles that didn't previously exist and I'm jiggly all over. I look big and bloated ALL OVER.

After talking with a guy he told me I should have done quick shots of hcg BEFORE I used the serms as my balls were, probably turned off. So in fact my pct I'm sure did next to nothing. Lesson learned.

    My questions are:
    1) if you get really fat after getting off a cycle, should I focus on "cutting" now with diet and maybe a cutting agent BEFORE I jump on my next cycle? OR if I jump back on a cycle of test and dbol again will that fill me out again?

In other words my goal is SIZE, but right now I'm FAT, so do I need to cut before I jump back on a mass cycle?

I'm convinced I'm fat right now because my hormones are adjusting. Not my diet which is 3k calories daily and clean.

Edifying answers only. Thanks in advance

You should run labs to see if you have recovered and adjust your nutrition. Are you still training?

    Agreed ^^^^^

You need to make sure your T and E2 levels are in range. Jumping right back on to early could lead to more issues down the line (long term suppression). Hormone imbalance could play a role in weight gain.

Not sure doing "quick shots" of hcg (not really even sure what that means) would have made a huge difference, however hcg should be part of a proper pct (keeps the grapes from turning into raisins).

My advice would be to follow the "time on + PCT = time off". Get the diet dialed in burn some fat and jump back on and plan your diet according to your goals (bulk/cut). I'm not a big fan of orals...id rather front load the T. My 2 cents...

Thanks for the great feedback guys.....

I am exactly doing that-getting bw results next wednesday.

I'm pretty sure that's the problem. My HPTA is messed up and need to probably bring the test up and estrogen down.

While I wait for my results, I have cut out ALL carbs from my diet to lean down. In only 2 days I'm less "jiggly" and belt is looser. I must have been seriously bloated. Substituting carbs with tblspoon of coconut oil in 3 of the meals.

Like I said I'm pretty sure this is all due to hormone imbalance.

While I'm cutting, a buddy of mine is saying I should jump on an ai and use some gw carnardine until I lean back down.

So my action plan is to see blood work results, continue with little carbs for as long as needed, jump on an ai with gw carnardine.

Also, I didn't use an ai with my cycle. I know....another lesson learned.

No carbs the last 3 days. Lost 4 pounds in those 3 days. Cut from 3500 calories to approx 24-2500 calories. Eating eggs, meat, veggies. That's it.

That's a really big cut man. Slow and steady.

If u took in 3500 cals. I would drop it to 3200 or 3000 and go from there. Cutting 1k cals out will take muscle away and will make u feel like s**t because of being so hungry haha

So all depending on my bw results wednesday......if my test is low I'm gonna be running another round of clomid with an ai. Also will include a fat burner, probably eca stack.

I know my estrogen is high, so I'll definitely be using an ai with a fat burner. Not sure what my test levels are.

Taxman I'll be running an ai now as I have a feeling my estrogen is high...I'm all bloated despite my diet. Should I run clomid with it if my test levels come back low?

You're all over the place like no other with this

You're trying to lose weight - while not losing weight < doesn't sound right does it?!

No need for a ECA stack - you aren't recomping anything just coming off a cycle

Just get BW & eat clean

This is a diet problem with the fat gain......on an off cycle you have to play with your carbs more. On cycle you can really eat a lot more carbs I have noticed. I have lost fat and gained muscle eating carbs at every meal I eat. Off cycle I could never do that......

Mack is spot on. when your on cycle you are going to partition nutrients much better and in a positive way towards muscle building, plus you'll have increased insulin sensitivity (meaning you'll store more carbs as muscle glycogen rather then fat) , plus you can store more glycogen then you could naturally (that means more muscle size).
Not so when your off cycle.. however there are other techniques you can use when your off cycle to help this and not store fat
