Eating frequancy does it matter
Fast question trying to get most out of my cycles like all of us I've done one meal a day and everything but everyone seems to reccomened eating 6-7meals a day every three hours which is what I'm currently doing this keep insuline up and storage up
Would switching to 4 meals a day every 5-6 hour change anything you think ? I've done one meal great for fat lost but not muscle gain.
What are you thoughts on tbis guys stick to every three hours or can you do large spaced with same results with insulin and gains

If you're trying to keep your body in an anabolic state. to fuel the stressful intense sessions etc feeding your muscles constantly with minimal time Inbetween meals so To have enough time to digest and be able to eat again at least lol. Id say like every 2- 3 hours so u are constantly throwing fuel into the "furnace". I usually have an issue with eating right on time since I get into things and become busy. But I try to eat at least my body weight in protein before i go to bed. And within reason eat steady like every 2-3 hours. And if I know it will be longer till I can eat again I will be sure to have some BCAA water or something to feed my muscles a little bit. Your metabolism is so reved up that if you go a while without eating you'll probably start burning them calories more and not make gains as fast. I'm just going on what I would think is proper. Not a nutritionist or anything. Lol

You need to eat every 2-3 hours to gain muscle. Lets forget about the increase in your metabolism for a second (which is a great benefit). Our bodies have storage systems for fat and carbs (glycogen) so when our body needs either, it can find them. But what about protein? There is no storage system for protein... This is the reason we need to eat 2-3 hours as body builders or really anyone trying to gain muscle, feeding our bodies with protein on a constant basis is extremely important.

I too read alot lately about the importance on keeping the fire burning and muscle feeding proces as steady as possible, be it in protein shakes form or snacks rich in necessary nutrients, or just plain simple nicely set prepped meals - steady and consistent feeding the body that carries muscles which requires almost constant and frequent repair and growth is what counts forcing ones body in to anabolic state where muscle building process begins and most hormones necessary output by the body are being optimised as a result. Its a nice process, how body can utilize for what it is and what it can do given right environment and conditioning.
Intermittent fasting only works so well for so long, I myself looking in to ideas gearing up on mealpacks and extra shakers just to get the most out of myself, make this life a little more fun, more rewarding

Whether you eat 4 times or 6-7 times per day isn't going to have any effect on your physique.
Net macros and calories are much more important.

Do you think so?even when bulking..me and my brother who also bodybuilds and powerlifts often argue are different points on this back and forth..when bulking don't you think a constant insulin spike and protein help?he is a 4 meal all his macro's in 4 meals kinda guy and I eat every 3 to 3.5 hours..he has a impressive physique I can't argue that but I've always been taught meal consistently and frequentcy are key..Iam not arguing just trying to understand your take on this..

Eating 4 meals, although do-able, isn't ideal. To each their own but at no point do I want to run the risk of protein not being readily available. Of course adding fats to slow down the digestion of protein is something that can be done to aid a 4 meal a day diet, but IMO its still not the ideal way to go about things when mass gain is a priority.

I have eaten 7 meals a day in the past for bulking. I currently eat 4. In both of these diets, I was/is at 3,800 cals per day. I see absolutely no difference in results. Eating 4 meals a day also helps when it comes to planning around my busy day.

I'm gonna say no , though i eat a lot but not that frequent . I eat whenever i'm hungry i've tried eating 6-7 meals , not different from the 3-4 times. And another thing is if you overfeed yourself you will get fat , you can not gain muscle forever in one cycle , bcuz of myostatin . You need to go step by step , cycle by cycle .

You guys are confusing a lot of stuff.
Putting cut and bulk diets in the same basket doensnt help answering the thread.
If I understand correctly the OP question was regarding a 1st cycle diet where he complains of poor gains on 1 meal/day diet. He was trying to gain/bulk/create/increase muscle, so you want to a diet to promote anabolism.
The most anabolic diet is to eat every 2-3 hours. Food is the biggest anabolic out there! Forget about tren or deca , if you dont eat you dont grow. A proper anabolic diet advises 20-40 grs protein per meal 5-6 meals per day, with enough carbs and fats to exceed your TDEE. If you lower the number of meals maintaining same values, you will promote fat gains and reduce the anabolic windows.
Yes, we sometimes have to compromise due to life, or whatever, still compiling anedoctal self data will only create confusing to the thread.
Is intermitent fast anabolic? Hell no, IF is for: 1. help a "primed" body to lose fat 2. longevity and health. Still you need to know what you doing, otherwise it may do the opposite of what you want. When you fasting you are lowering the metabolism and going into catabolism, with the correct amount of drugs and stimulant you can deceive the body and take advantage of it. Should you do it when you are trying to gain muscles? Hell no.
Sorry, but 1 meal a day is what I call the "dog diet". Do we have the dog metabolism and/or the dog digestive tract?? Not me.

Just from a protein standpoint, you have to eat multiple meals.
Have yet to find an research backed, ultimate answer to how much protein can be fully utilized from a single meal. With that said, the numbers that appear most often, seem to range around 30 - 40 grams.
Then its up to how much protein you plan on taking in daily and divide it by 30 - 40.
