Deca Joint Help for my bow legged self

Well, apparently I’m still alive - and, now some of my inherited mother side probs are a following. I’m getting pains on the outside inside portion of my knees - like, the bone potion that faces the other knee. My mom has the same exact leg pattern as I do

This is me trying to bring em close together as possible while standing up - least pretty of me, I kno

At about my age, her knees would randomly start swelling & she couldn’t walk for shit. Just seen her the other day(she’s 66 now), one knee was the size of a grapefruit in the same area.

Amazingly enough, she was also very active when she was young - walked a lot & stayed fairly fit. When her legs/knees went to shit - well, she hasn’t done so well since.

This community has been the best with real life health advise - so, if anyone has any ideas - it’d b here

I just popped my first pair of ibuprofens today & they already feel better. Prob is that my neurosurgeons said not to load up on ibuprofen due to he blood thinning it causes. But, I’m fairly far past my embolization & my fears of recanalization have been double checked when I was in ER last month. So, imo I can load up on a bit of ibuprofen - but, still

How much deca can I load up on vs test? I won’t push my test past 250mg weekly. I started with 60mg of Deca weekly, went up to 90 & now bumped it to 120.

I’m not trying to get big, let alone get deca dick - I’m just trying to stay intact as long as possible.

And, I think it’s time for me to have a career change(easier said than done, but) - since I’m used to being on my feet about 90% of the day.

So ask your Dr about duexis. It's ibuprofen with famitodine to protect your stomach at least. You can take it in higher doses as well. They're 800mg pills and I've taken 4 or 5 in a day.

But, not sure about your blood thinning concerns.

Sorry, thats all I got. Lol. But I have some knee issues as well. Not like yours, but I take duexis a bit. Dr gave it to me when I had shoulder surgery. Not cheap but I have great insurance.

On 250mg of test? I'd say you could run 300mg of deca easily. But I don't think it's going to fix your problem that well. It'll give some relief, but I still have knee pain (below the kneecaps) even if I were to run cycle doses.

We're getting old, Dude. And I'm sure the years of lifting made it worse. I find that 2 of over-the-counter Aleve work better than 800mg of Ibuprofen (prescription strength) and last a lot longer. The best relief I got was an injection of toradol, but they only would give that to me in the ER. Cortisone injections might be an option too.

I wonder if a corrective brace could possibly help? Have you had any imaging done of that knee, Samson?

I know you've had your hands full dealing with the embolism and recovery, but if possible it might not hurt to consider it.

As far as Deca , if you're monitoring your CBC and you're sure your prothrombin time is in range, I think 200mg/week would be a good dosage.

Again, imaging and the radiologist's interpretation might give you a more accurate picture as to whether Deca would be beneficial.

One other thing to possibly consider is Zilretta, but I think to get the full benefit you will want that knee straighter....even if it's just a corrective brace.

The right is worse than the left & they never gave me probs till recently. . . Yup, old age - gotta love it < sorta, at least I’m alive to feel the pain

The curvature seems to get worse with age - at least that’s how it’s been with my mom.

A corrective knee brace or 2 - add a Cpap machine. Fuck. . . Lol

But, I see some guys with legs bowed to shit & they’re still chugging along

Also, my leg ache shoots down the tibia & feels like growing pain

All of this has really come to my attention in the last six months - I’d say

Aleve can be useful, but be respectful of the prescribed dosage. I was using the OTC Aleve for my neck and shoulder for a time and decided that if I upped the dosage it would be even better. Big mistake on my part. Absolutely couldn't stay off the toilet.
They did help some, but respect the dosage amount and schedule.
