I will never have an overseas source again!
My latest of two siezed packages still has not left customs and probably won't. I have 4 sent to me; the first two showed up fine and the second two got siezed. She has this "insurance plan" where if you send an additional 30% of order cost, and with this if the package got siezed, she would resend the package to me, provided I have the siezure notice. But it has been two months since the first one got sized, and I still havent gotten the notice for that. does this sound a little sketchy to anyone else? anyone else have/had mexican sources and what are your thoughts?

Sounds to me like you need to quit ordering from "HOT" countries...

It amazes me how you guys have the balls to have your gear ordered through mail. I know a lot of people on this forum do it, but I seriously do not think I have the balls to even think about it.

Hot countries like mex, thailand, asia, china, russia, turkey, peru anywhere like that its insane to order into the usa, you might as well put your money on a 5:1 at the races.
Some countries though into the usa dont have teh same problems at all, so its not all like that, so much speculation goes on here its unreal, people should talk from facts not what they hear, we are all in the same game so lets help each other out by not talking sh1t about what we dont know

Gotta do what you gotta do sometimes...it sucks that your gear was siezed. Sometimes a siezue letter can take months..or if at all...maybe you were taken..who knows for sure? Making your own is the best way to go these days!

I have had a package seized by customs coming out of Brazil! The first one of dozens. The package came and was attempted 3x and then sent back. (roomate never told me they attempted delivery, he was lying to me and got scared). Well it was sent back here overnite again and attempted 2 more times and was sent back again. (roomate again told me nothing ever was attempted.) They finally seized the package. My source did call on it and they told him to come there and pick it up. We just chocked it up as a loss. If your waiting for a letter, dont bet on it. I never got one. It sucks but what are you gonna do. Im just greatful my source sent me half my money back. Needless to say, were done for awhile!
My other friend who was sending my source the money was busted recently also for sending money through the mail. I told him how to do it right so they wont know, but he didnt listen and got sloppy. Sending money between 2 pieces of cardboard or a security envelope doesnt cover up the money. It still shows up if the x-ray it. They have him on camera mailing it and pictures of the package, money, etc. My friend is also S.W.A.T. Could have lost his job, but he stuck to his story, and he hasnt heard from them since. Customs agents actually came to his home.

sending money through the mail or any other source like fedex, ups, etc. is illegal. I dont know who told you that it is ok. I used to work for ups, thats how I know. We actually caught 2 envelopes trying to come through one with about 50,000 and the other with about 20,000.
If your gonna send cash you have to be creative, and use only 100s. I have sent money through differernt carriers, and never had one seized. I know how to beat the system. (knock on wood).

i just sent one and it cost me 17 dollars. Depends on the weight and where its going also. Just stay away from usmail, they are very good at catching money going through. And just use 100s!

there are a lot of assumtions on this thread. first i have never heard of sending cash out in the mail to be illegal- i just did it last week! and i know it got through ok..
also everyone keeps preaching this tagged addy crap- well, i think TOJ hit it on the head. how in the hell is customs going to flag all the addresses that have siezed packs- then get other packs that are sent to that address? you people subscribe to conspiracy theory or something.. people getting 3-4 amps of test or a few pills arent going to get a controlled delivery- its just not logistically feasible- and as far as packs getting siezed again it might depend on "hot" countrys; ie. thai, china, etc.. but theres always the risk that it will get siezed- we've got some huge ass agents protecting our boarders..ha ha....
just wanted to throw in another 2 cents...

on a side note- it really doesnt matter if your gear gets siezed if you have good source that you admire, cherish, love, etc...
they will always resend for cost or even less.

You cant tell me they are not looking, because they are. Im not sure if they were just doing it random or what.
I used to work for ups, and they have been known for opening up international packages to make sure what the packing slip says is whats inside. They dont open all, I say maybe 25% at least at my center. The packages that contained large sums of money were handed over to loss prevention and handled appropiately from there. What happend to the individuals, I have no idea. But bottom line, you can send large amounts of cash through delivery services, just call and ask!

So first question when they catch you and question you for 4 hrs with you on tape what the hell do you say? Second what is a good way to hide the cash. I usually just send it in a double evelope and then inside a padded usps shipping envelope.

They pretty much asked him everything from what he told me. He wouldnt tell me specifically, but they knew he was sending cash before, asked him why, why to brazil, etc.
As for sending cash or whatever else, Please Dont Ask Me Or PM Me on how to do it. I wont answer them! Ill say this, just be creative!!

ok first off I'm not asking how to stuff money. I was curious because there is only so much you can do before it looks oversized. Now they questioned your friend that I know but I was really wondering what the heck did he say. How do you lie your way out of something like that. I was donating to feed the children. .

Spy has spoken...
And I for one believe it... Makes sense for Customs to use
them in international airports with a high volume of packs...
Have reasons to make me believe this that I will not discuse
on a open board ever... But I'm sure they have more then
any of us want to beleive or give them credit for... **** X-rays
are bad enuf...
Anyway, Spy get off your ass and design another machine
that beats that machine and all will be good in the world again...

From what my friend told me, he told the customs agents he was sending money to his cousin to help him out. He was having some hard times and asked my friend to help. Thats the story he stuck with and never changed it. Which is how its suppose to be done. 1000 US Dollars in Brazil is like having 10000! (you get the idea) US money is very strong over there, or anywhere in South America. I talked to my S.W.A.T. friend today, and he said there is no charge as of right now, and there probably wont be. I guess he is getting a break. If something does happen, I will post it back here.
Thanks to Spy for backing my story with the international packages. They do check. He said every 10th package. UPS at my center did about 25% of them. Mostly the boxes, never really envelopes because they were considered documents.
And as for scanning, UPS scans EVERYTHING! Next time you send one UPS, go online at their website, and see how many times its scanned. Its crazy..from the time they pick it up, till it leaves the center, to the airport, from the airport, to the delivery center, to destination, etc.

Its amazing to me that some in here are "Experts" on the kinds of machines customs and post offices have. I have to agree with Jason. And its not worth the Gov'ts time and effort to "Tag" adresses for trying to import some gear. (of course large volume is a different story)
