Muay Thai good student bad.....
Man did i get a kick in the nuts when i visited the muay thai school near my house.
I am 5 feet 10 and around 196 pounds right now which is very average height and weight, i am also 33.
I visited the school on Saturday afternoon where i knew they did a lot of sparring.
To my big surprise when i got there i didnt see anyone above 21 years old and even worst most of the students where 5 feet 7 and very close to 140 pounds.
I watches the sparring and could not beleive that they did not defend the leg kick and it seemed a lot more then a tag game then techical fighting.
I will continue shopping around for a martial arts school that at least have people of my age and that are at least my mesurements or taller and bigger.

It is hard, in my experience, to find a local school that isnt packed with kids, unless you live in a major city. I dont know how your financial situation is, but, have you considered private lessons? Also, being 20 my self, I know that older age is no longer an inherent advantage for my oponent, as I can now train just as hard (if not harder) as any other man. But I'm 6'2" almost 200. My point is don't write off us 20 year olds as scrubs .
How did the instructor seem? Did you get to chat with him?

Dont worry i am not bad mouthing 20 year old at all, hey i rather train with younger guys for sure but a guy like you at 6 foot 2 and 200 pounds would be a lot better to train with then a guy that is 5 feet 7 and 140 pounds.
The teacher is very small has well, but he is a great person and good teacher.
I dont wanna pay for private lesson at my old age of 33 LOL i wanna have fun, i competed a lot younger from 16 til 22 in tkd so that part is done for me.
