    Penn vs GSP(strikes)

    I understand everyone is very impressed with GSP, he deserves it but its really starting to bother me when people talk about his striking. Penn has had wars with Pulver, Gomi(not the same Gomi today but still) and Machida. Not to mention he quickly dismantled Bang who is probably the best 170 pound striker the ufc has right now. I mean GSP is really good, I just think that Penn has the advantage striking, I think people are just forgetting his stand up. I also think Penn's BJJ is better but I think if he gets stuck under GSP it could be long night since he has great ground & pound. I guess it just annoys me when people talk about GSP strikes they are good but he has yet to fight a standup fighter like Penn. Should be a great fight

    Penn is by far the better striker, even though Gomi wasnt as good as he is today, he caught a beat down.

    Any witch way you see it this is gonna be a great fight and the biggest test for GSP since he fought Hugues.

    I have to disagree, GSP is a better striker than BJ by far...BJ is merely prefecient at striking with his background being BJJ. GSP comes form a striking background and it shows and his wrestling is sick, he shut down Sherk like it was nothing and Sherk is easily as good a wrestler as Hughes.

    I love BJ Penn, he has been my favorite in the UFC since he started. He's the guy that just has that special talent -but I believe that GSP is a worse matchup for him than even Hughes would be again. I will take BJ over anyone near his weigh anytime, but it wouldn't be suprising if SP pulled of the upset! In reguards to striking, GSP's reach is a real advantage. Also he's just the super athlete..he's built like Robocop...I never thought i would see anyone out muscle and manhandle someone as strong as Frank Trigg!!
