If Frank Shamrock is so good then why does he keep fighting cans?

He is in amazing shape for sure, he was incredible in pancrase and in UFC.

He sort of stopped fighting in 1999 and made a return against a can in 2003 at Rumble on the rock, then this year at a smaller show against Ceasar Gracie in a match that lasted 30 seconds tops.

Now if the smaller shows like this can afford him how come he didnt cut a deal with Pride or UFC, i am pertty sure that both of them could have offered him a lot more then theses smaller shows.

Has of now he has not proven anything fighting theses 2 guys, and should really consider going against top notch fighters.

He said he will never fight for an organization like the UFC ever. He left them on bad terms and is still on bad terms with them. With Pride I'm not sure. He did an interview not so long ago and explained it all. Frank Shamrock hasnt fought anybody but cans. He's faced top competition and beaten them.

nah dude, Franks fought good opponents, Bas Rutten being one

Frank Shamrock is pretty much retired now, I think his match was ceaser gracie was more recreational than it was for him to get back in the tournament circuit

He's beaten Bas Rutten, Enson Enoue, Kevin Jackson, Tito Ortiz, Igor Zinoviev, Jeremy Horn, John Lober, Elvis Sinosec, and Cesar Gracie. In addition he's fought and lost to some very skilled fighters. I don't think I have ever heard anyone call any Gracie a "can" or any of these guys for that matter. They're well respected fighters who train very hard.
One reason might be the fact that he's been fighting for years and from what I understand had for the most part decided to retire a few years ago, He was in Pankrasse long before he fought in the UFC and has been fighting since the early 90's and has proved himself long ago.
My understanding for his decision to take the two last fights hinged on the fact he just split with Javier Mendez and AKA and opened his own gym to give his membership a boost. In addition he promoted the fight as a business venture and as a service to the martial arts community with the recent legalization of MMA fighting in California.
Oh well, just my two cents.

I think the question is why Frank has not fought anybody worth a shit since 1999 yet still comes off as if he is the best etc.

He has caught a case of the "Rickson Gracie" if you ask me...

    That is all...

Guys i didnt say he fought cans all is life, i meant since he returned in 2003.

He fought some great in pancrase of course and humiliated Tito Ortiz.

In an interview he add before fighting Ceasar Gracie he said he would come back full time, now if this is true i really hope HE DOES NOT FIGHT CANS.

I wanna see him against the best has to offer

Shamrock talks a lot. He's a great fighter but he just never stops talking and doesnt back it up.

I heard if Tito wins the fight tonight he will be fighting Shamrock for his next match. I heard TITO say this yesterday himself on my local radio station.

Shamrock will NEVER agree to this. He'll never fight in the UFC.

we'll see if Ken v. Tito will happen. Tito did complain about his ACL, his back and something else after the Forrest fight. i have never seen Tito winded like he was in that fight.

Not sure now if Tito can make the Shamrock fight, he has a torn ACL & MCL...will have to wait and see.

He went into the Forrest fight with the injury. Rumor has it he injured it while filming/training TUF.
