    opinions on this training split

monday: kickbox 2 hours, wrestle 1 hour
tuesday: kickbox 2 hours, lift chest/tris
    wed: wrestle 1 hour
thurs: kickbox 2 hours, lift back/bis
    friday: lift legs
    saturday: off
sunday: wrestle 1 hour, lift core strength stuff/shoulders

im not trying to become a pro fighter by any means, but for work, i need a decent fight game, and im obviously not trying to become a pro bodybuilder or anything. anyways, thoughts? thanks in advance.

it looks ok but i would do legs/shoulders on friday and rest saturday and sunday so you can recovery better. also con tues and thurs i would start with weight training in the morning and kickboxing in the afternoon. on legs day try to keep reps high and dont train them to hard cause in wrestling you work them alot.

I think you pretty much have the same schedule as me xcept i do 2 hours bjj instead of kick boxing...unfortunately...training that much is going to make you get an injury sooner or later...lifting isn't gona help with that...you need to sit on your bum all day saturday and relax. As far as lifting...are you doing power lifting or for endurance...kickboxing needs the endurance and power lifting is best for the explosiveness of grappling.

Also how long have you been training that long? You might burn yourself out on it.

I would think that you know your body better than anyone on this board. Try different things, see what works. I've been on a schedule very similar to yours and I ended up burning myself out fairly quickly.

ya, well the bonus part for me is that a: both of these are biking distance from my house, so its easy to get there, and b: i only pay $40 for as much as i want to go, so if i want to take a day off or two, i dont have to feel guilty in the wallet.

and ya, i have been grappling 3x a week for like 6 months (was bjj, but that is too far and too expensive, so now im starting wrestling, which i have never done and feel like the jackass newbie again). so now im just adding the kickboxing 3x a week. however i probably will be boxing and wrestling 3x a week one week and then the following only doing 2 of one and 3 of the other, if that makes any sense.
