i knew that on the first day when they opted for a nutrionalist instead of a submission specialist. I mean hell... the guy that tito brought in for stand up is a bjj blackbelt too i think... or atleast a brown.

Bisping knocked the crap outta Kristian, damn. at least he admitted it after the fight that he lost and Bisping was the better fighter. I thought he woulda had a better showing with 43 fights to his name.

Eh... yeh Ken seems too be getting old and doesn't give a sh!t (Taking his fighters golfing and watching old UFC fights). I have respect for Tito as a person now after seeing him in a reality tv situation he seems to show his true colors and seems like a cool guy and everything he did in his past was just for shock value and to get his name out their. As for Ken i think he is just trying to keep up with grandfather time and thus the nutrionalist...

As for tonights fight right on for the U.K. guy and I hope he takes out deaf boy, ya know, I mean wtf is a deaf guy gonna do seriously in a professional fight, look at his corner to see what his translator is fingering him. But you know what they say never undaestamate da powa of da handicap...

I didn't say he shouldn't try to win the contract I just don't think he's gonna be anything in the UFC.. cmon be realistic here he's gonna lose but it will be slightly intresting tho...

I'll send you $100 if he gets the contract...

Not to mention, ken bought in a boxing coach... like, boxing only

if your going to take there submission coach away, atleast give them a well rounded striking coach - no wonder the Lions Den has no good fightes anymore

Do you realize he is a highly decorated wrestler? also if you notice fighters often glance at there corner? He is just started training and he may not win the contract but he could have a very bright future espicially since the ufc is very takedown orientated, which he excells at. He could have a very bright future in the UFC and he is handicapped and still fullfilling a dream I think everyone should show the kid props for not letting his disability run his life

I dont mean to be rude, or disrespectful.

but to be a successful MMA fighter, your going to need atleast black belt in jujitsu - wrestling alone wont accomplish great success

anybody here have a wrestler in there jujitsu club? we have one, and he's friggan amazing on his shoots, but he's useless as far as submissions are concerned, wrestling is a far different mindset than jujitsu

I must disagree..while i will agree that an MMA fighter should be compitent in Jiu-Jitsu off his back as well as on top, a BB is not necessary with all the other factors involved today. Now of course it would'nt hurt but it is not critical IMO.

I agree with muriloninja...i think you do need some bjj... but a good purple will do just fine if you're a good wrestler. Escpecially in UFC...hell you might be able to win with a strong blue (if the school sticks with gracie standards on time). We have an awesome x high school wrestler who's are best mma fighter. He is a blue (would be purple if he'd come to gi class more often). And he is awesome and well rounded.

he has to much skill to be in that show. He'd have to do something that makes him look like a good ratings star like tattoo his head or send his video in with him drunk on it.

Excellent post Murilo you put it very well in that you need to be compitent in working from your guard and working in someone elses guard but no need to be a black belt.
