jiu jitsu cycles
I just got into jiu jitsu a couple months ago, and im hooked. My question is, what do you MMAs, who juice, juice with?

i would just worry about working on your technique and not worry about going on a cycle to help your BJJ game

Cycle's usually dno't help jiu jitsu at all...especially when youj ust start. HOnestly most white belts have a habbit of going to hard / too much strength anyway. Work on technique and learning to breathe right and not go all rigid on people.

The whole concept of jiu jitsu is neutralizing your opponents strength and size by taking it to the ground and using your skill there. So trying to juice is becoming more like the bigger and stronger opponent, and less like the skilled ground fighter.

no no, im not trying to juice to become better at it. I have cycled a few times before and i have another one coming up towards the end of the summer, so i was just wondering... Im not looking to compete or be a badass at it, i just enjoy my time in class, and the whole idea of it.

i wouldn't bother. i haven't taken any gear since i started BJJ, but i've use gear back in the day and like esp. tren made me gas walking out to my car much less rolling for a long time.

Using strength will hinder your advancement in bjj. Something that might help your endurance and recovery might help for sparring though. I'm looking into Eq or Primo. Winny is hard on the joints, which is bad for submission sports.

Strength is never bad in jui jitsu. I don't know how anyone can say it hinders your game. It definately helps to be fluid but I wouldn't rely on being able to use your opponents strength and size against them every time. I don't care how skilled someone is, if they only weigh 150 then they are gonna pay.
I agree that you should stay away from the winny. A cycle is not what will make you a better fighter.

I don't think strength hinders BJJ technique at all, but its knowing when to use strength and how much to use. Zimmy is right, most white belts use all strength and try to power through opponents rather than using the proper techniques, causing them to gas in 2 minutes of rolling.
I do think however that strength is the best sub defense!
