Anderson Silva- The Road Ahead
What are all your thoughts on Silva's next fight(s), apart from the TUF 4 winner?
The UFC middleweight division is nothing to brag about, apart from Silva. Do you guys think they'll give Franklin an immediate rematch (a la Arlovski)? I mean, really, what else would they do, toss a guy like Swick in there to get absolutely obliterated?
Looking for thoughts...

You know how the UFC is. Thats what they are known for, rematches. I'll be willing to bet Franklin will get a rematch with him. I also think they will let swick have a shot at it which i would love to see because Silva would just tear him apart. Also im sure whoever wins the TUF 4 will get domolished too. I personally think that Franklin could have put up a better fight, he just took Silva to lightly IMO. If and when they fight again i'll bet franklin would try to bring it to the ground. They both have good jui jitsu skills so it would be interesting to see what would happen if the fight went to the ground. I personally think silva would take it again.

I didn't see the fight! But I heard Rich took a knee to the nose! Ouch! Gonna take a while to come back if he broke his nose.
Any comments?

Yeah he took more than one knee but he one of them was right on the button and his nose was in an "s" shape. Muriloninja posted a thread on it, heres the link if ya didnt see it.

Better get is ass back in Pride where real challenge await him.
I never understood why he signed with UFC in the first place, i really like Silva but i see nothing in is futur in UFC

Silva hasn't fought in Pride in 2 years, and he lost his last 2 fights there...I'd say that's why he signed with the UFC.
That said, I don't see anyone challenging Silva until a Franklin rematch. Swick is too inexperienced, Marquardt has nothing for him, and TUF4 winner definitely has nothing for him. I hope they don't do the immediate rematch again, though.

He's probably going to stay in the ufc because he knows he will just walk through the fighters. There was a thread started on this but im sure Dana White is kicking himself in the ass right now. Im sure he thought Franklin was going to win the fight but he didnt. I personally think Dana White signed him to try and prove his fighters were better than pride's and now he probably feels like a jackass. Dont get me wrong, the ufc has some great fighters but not to many. Im curious to see who silva will fight next besides the the Tuf 4 winner.

Same has Wandy he would kockout pertty much everyone in the LHW division.
I would love to see a rematch Tito vs Wandy now that wandy ground game is so much better then when they fought for the fist time.

lindland is the onyl person who can handle andersilva that the ufc could get. it's pretty clear franklin' not where he needs to be for there to be a serious rivalry.

I agree, Silva's win was impressive, and he's obviously at the top of his division right now. But let's not get carried away.

I agree with that. Saying Silva would gauranteed drop Liddel might be a bit much. I know Silvia just walked through Franklin, but I think it was because Rich wanted to put his clinch against Silva's and we know who got the best of that. Chuck does not let anyone close enough to him. His left hook meets any temple that gets within 3'.
It would be an amazing fight though...

i have to say that i had no idea this fight was going to be so one sided. franklin looked like he was outclassed the whole way. and i thought rich would have the strength advantage in this fight because of his conditioning, but such was not the case. i say rich is given a couple of cans to beat up on and build his confidence back up, then he gets a rematch with silva.

I still think that Chuck Liddell is so damn OVER RATED, and i do think that either Wandy or Silva might not knock him out but at least hang with him.

Anderson is a great fighter with great stand up but everyone needs to calm down. He is this months flavor he got a great victory no doubt but I mean everyone calm down. He would not beat chuck, I dont think he would be lindland either. He is a good fighter and a great person. I think alot of people our in shock how he dismantled Franklin I think he would beat Franklin again simply cause he is a horrible match up for him but I dont think it would look anything like it did this time.

DAMN, its cut off about a minute into the 3rd, what an amzing fight so far. Those oversized gloves are keeping Silva from a tight clinch.

If Silva and Liddell went at it, i dont think chuck would knock him out.

I agree, each time I watch Chuck fight, he seems to be better than before. Silva likes to stand and strike just like Chuck does, no reason to think Chuck couldn't KO him.

Silva lost to Takase and Chonan..he was dominating Chonan until Chonan lands the most awkward submission ever used by mankind and Silva tapped.
The Takase fight, Anderson looked as if he did'nt want to be there, not focused and got caught in a triangle and tapped.
Now as far as Anderson fighting Chuck, i think he would definately mark Chuck up and definately tag him alot but Chuck's power might catch up. Chuck is not the best striker out there, he has been fed wrestlers/submission guy's for years now and is yet to be matched against another striker.***No source checks!!!***

Some great responses to this thread, fellas. Thanks for all the input.
Chuck vs. Silva would be a good fight. Silva's muay thai skills are ahead of Chuck's, though, and I think that would be a serious factor.
Also, if you watch the Franklin fight again, Silva is always circling, always dancing...I highly doubt Silva would take the balls to the wall approach of fighting Chuck (ie, full steam ahead firing shots), which some fighters seem to try. I could definately see Chuck getting knocked out....but, with a puncher like Chuck it could go either way....that's not to say I'd bet aginst Silva, though.
