Not to be a total a$$hole like I probably sound like but, ???
Im getting so sick of everyone thinking they are an Ultimate fighter. Seriously every time I go somewhere some one is talking about there buddy thats an ultimate fighter, or don't mess with me cause Im an ultimate fighter, Its starting to give it a bad name in my eyes. Seriously, I can walk into 1/2 the bars or event centers and sign up to fight in there next ultimate fighting show, with absolutely no experience. whatever, Im sorry Im kinda being a prick, not ment to attack you or your friend just ranting, cause I'm sick of everyone being an ultimate fighter, and the ultimate bad ass, no matter how bad ass someone thinks they are, theres 100 guys more bad ass than you out there.

lol ... you guys think i was kidding?
his highlight was getting up from a dominant position ? And slamming a guy and ending up in his guard?
Lol we're not trying to bad mouth the guy... just don't see any real skill or technique in his highlght real. Sorry.Last edited by zimmy; 04-12-2007 at 12:08 AM.

that's the point. We can see that his skill is basic yet he has a highlight reel which you would have if you are a pro fighter to sell yourself. So either,
1) he's going pro... in which case i think it's a lil 2 soon if he wants to be a successful WINNNING fighter
2) he's just jacking around and decided to put a vid of himself / website up...iin which case...woow... what an ego.

No, hes not jacking around. one of the guys he trains with is into making films and stuff, so he just put it together.
Not really sure what his intentions are about going pro..
dhriscer. Its all good. I dont take anything to heart from the net.

i dont mind being the one that bashes him
i just think its douchey (cant be a word...) to hype yourself like that, he should let his fighting speak for itself, his highlight reel is all training. if he ends up getting sponsored one day and a company hypes you up i think its different, but like grandman said "self praise has scandal".....

just to give ya an idea... this is one of our fighters highlight thingy he sends to get booked... new pro...only 8-9 fights pro.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1SXx9tn3xik
he only put in the training to show more of the other aspects he doens't usually end up using in fights :P

Sorry guys but sometimes it gets rather personal.
Some of you are ratting him for being confident....but also offer him a fight.
How does it make you any different.
Called contradiction.

Guys you need to understand one thing and one thing only this is entertainment, pure and simple.
Either it be MMA, Pro wrestling, TKD, Karate and all.
There is no need to call out anyone, or act like a tought guy.
I appologize Armbar83 but you gotta stop calling out people cause they dont have the same opinion has you do.
Personal experience in kyo kushin i was 142 pounds not far from 155 and i fought guys that where 50-60 even 100 pounds heavier then me, i got KOed each time, at a bodyweight of 150 pounds your punching and kicking power is far from a 200 pounder.
I used to kick theses guys has hard has i could and punch them in the body, ribs and all and they just stood there coming after me like freaken tanks.
Kyokushin is hard on the body, and theses guys had been training for years. Hitting theses guys was like hitting a brick wall it hurt me more then it hurt them.
Now being 225 i did get into some pushing and shoving with some of my work buddies just jocking around and theses guys are like 160 pounds i couldnt belevie how easy it was to move then around.
Entertainemnt guys entertainment.

untrained 160 pounders bro he been doing judo for 14 years.
How serious can this be, 99% of everyone is an amateur fighter.
Flashback of pro wrestling years when all the people that trained in a small church basement tought they would make it to the big times.
Now that was funny.
Many of you guys got some great advise, made me understand more on Jiu Jitsu, Muay Thai and boxing.
Exemple working angles.
Its just that i dont see this has serious has you guys. For me my competition is done i am going to be 35 this years, i just want to get back into martial arts and not feel the pressure, being nervous before a big competition, or get pissed off mad cause i lost.
I wanna have fun and for me pro wrestling, MMA boxing are all viewed has pure entertainement.
Sorry if i offended anyone.
Many of you guys did bash Kyokushin karate and assumed it plain old karate, but kyokushin is one of the toughest martial arts out there.
Its very hard on the body, and very demanding, its not like shotokan where the goal of the art is to never explore your real power, you never get to hit heavybags, nor spar for real.
Even TKD has its place, its 95% sparring all the time.Last edited by sonar1234; 04-12-2007 at 12:43 PM.

im not acting like a toughguy, but when you talk about how bad ass your karate is and you think it could match up with mma, i say in the spirit of the sport...
f*cking prove it.
i do take this seriously, its an important part of my life.

id like to see 99% of people fight like some of the guys in here do.
i dont train in a small church basement. i train with American Top Team. They are one of the largest, best trained camps in the country. myself, and the other guys i train with take it serious, because it is their job.
many pros with ATT have already "made it"...check them out next time you order a Pride or UFC pay per view. specifically from our gym, seth petruzelli, luigi fioravanti, and paul rodriguez have all faught and are active fighters in the UFC, Pride, and K1. Besides them we have 10-15 guys who fight professionally in various events (CFC, RFC, WEF, XFC, ect.)
i take offense to that comment and i think it is representative of the majority of your posts in this forum.
i really enjoy the group of guys who train, have fought, and do fight in here and the useful contributions they make to this forum (mn, murlino, zimmy, quiet, ect).
i was joking before but now youve gotten on my nerves man. good luck training and please try to think about your posts before you post them...

That's well said Armbar...Sonar you need to realize that to a lot of us on this forum, it's not entertainment at all...it's a way of life. A lot of these guys here eat, sleep, and breathe fighting and it's not to entertain themselves...it's who they are. I personally use rolling/sparring/fighting as a release, a sort of anger management...not to mention I use it in the workplace. You see, it can be the difference between life and death for me, and I take it very seriously. Do I enjoy training...you bet I do. Is watching a Pride/UFC/K1 event entertaining...of course it is. But for those of us who get out there and do it, be it professionally or otherwise, to categorize it as entertainment comes off as a little condescending if not insulting. Just trying to give you my point of view here...not intended to flame you.
