I'm not a pride hater, crocop is my favorite fighter, but i just never agreed with the popular idea that pride was light years ahead of the ufc in talent.
IMO shogun losing to griffin = shogun over rated.

Let not go crazy here. Every fighter has an off night. Shogun Is the future of the light heavyweight division not forrest griffin. Thats like saying Jardine is a better fighter then Liddell or Serras a Better fighter than GSP which is not the case. Shogun lost.... but that doesnt mean Griffin is a better fighter. The fact is no 1 is ubeatable, I dont care If u put Gsp vs Josh Rafferty.....there always a chance sum 1 can get caught and thats whats so great about MMA...

As far as UFC vs. Pride argument. I think Rampage came from pride didn't he? Hows he doing? Watch out for Wandy also.

He is the only one. Bigger names than his have fallen in the octagon..........
Wandy will bring a new level of aggression to the UFC.

I think Dan Henderson is still someone to watch out for. He fought Rampage his first fight and didn't look bad at all, he just didn't do enough to win over the champ. With Hendo, Wandy, Rampage, Rua, Liddell, Griffin, Alexander, this division is going to have some good KO's.

I agree with most of what you are saying. Any fighter can have an off night, any fighter can get caught and go down. However, until i see any evidence to the contrary i can't believe shogun lost because he didn't train hard enough, or he underestimated griffin, or his dog ran away, or whatever. If shogun would have got KO'd early in the 1st, then the "forest got lucky" argument would be a lot more believable. But he didn't. Shogun was soundly beaten then sub'd. Shogun is a great fighter. He probably is the future of the LHW division. Not so sure he deserved the #1 ranking though. I don't buy into a lot of the lame excuses that come flying out when a pride fighter gets beat down by a ufc fighter, or vice versa.

Rampage is doing great. Wandy will probable do very well also. crocop, herring and shogun - not doing so well. Diaz vs Gomi IMO is very similar to griffin vs shogun. Diaz, although he was fighting larger opponents in the ufc, wasn't doing so great in the octogon. His 1st fight in pride is against Gomi, the #1 ranked lightweight fighter in the world. Diaz sub's Gomi, and lame excuses fly. IMO if Gomi fights in the ufc, and has to fight a few contenders before he gets a title shot, he's got serious problems. Couldn't tell that from most peoples rankings though.
