Andrey's mistake was that he got too comfy with Fedor. He saw that he dominates in speed and stupid momo started with that fancy crap. Tell me one thing " Why the hell did u decide to go with a flying knee against THE FATHER ? LMAO " ..........AA was out in the air and hit the ground like a bag of sh*t.... Could've last longer imo.....Now I dont even know if he'll recover ( his loss to Tim Silvia changed his aggression).
Fedor IS DA MAN , THE FATHER OF HEAVY WEIGHTS. THERE'S NO A BETTER MAN WHO DESERVE TO BE A CHAMPION OF THE WORLD I.E. TO BE A FACE OF MMA AND REPRESENT THE SPORT.

AA made a Stupid mistake with that flying knee, that’s worse than starting a combination with a right uppercut just amateur!
Although I must say up until that point he made Fedor look slow and really quite bad on his feet.
I’d like to see Fedor fight a good striker with fast feet and a long reach. Unfortunately I can’t think of any decent strikers in the HW division.
Maybe we could get one of the klitschko brothers to fight him lol

Agreed. AA was taking Fedor out of balance with those strikes and speed, but that is what Fedor is all about, he knew how to wait for his time and perfectly timed that right hand. AA made that 1 mistake and Fedor made him pay. There is no one I can see taking that belt from Fedor. The guy is just too complete and most of all he can keep cool even when things are not going his way, just like yesterday.

There is so serious unfinished buisness here, that fight finished with a very lucky punch via Fedor.
I am a Fedor fan dont get me wrong he is the best in the world so far, but even he cannot be satisfied with a lucky punch like that.
Arlovski was winning, he landed some very solid shots too and you could see the bruise on Fedor face.
No way there has to be a rematch for sure.

There is no luck in that punch...the timing you got to have, looks lucky, but if you know MMA its not.

Fedor is the real deal but I think AA showed us that the gap is not as wide as we once thought. That being said, Barnett's fat ass is going to get dismantled. Gilbert fought a tough fight.
-

Agreed there are no lucky punches at that level, BUT, no once can ignore the fact that Fedor got exposed in that fight. His standup is poor and AA pointed that out. There are no heavyweights in MMA with AA boxing skills but AA's chin is obviously suspect. And for someone to mention any top heavyweight boxer is insane...let alone any of the klischtko brothers.

Barnett will make it through round 1 and 2, maybe 3.
He's a smart fighter, pretty quick for being 255lbs too. He's got 20 good lbs on Fedor and Fedor has beat bigger, but not fighters that are as skilled as Barnett is.
I think Barnett does better than AA.
But I think AA did better than most expected, he was fast, and did what he wanted standing. He got too confident with a guy like Fedor. Fedor has that iron ****ing chin.

Sure , Fedor is a lucky puncher not ! LOL
Fedor didn't look slugish, he looked calm. Every single fight he had , all that super duper quickness of other fighters didn't go past 1/2 time of the first round. Randleman grabbed him , threw him like a toy. Even Colman got him down and thought he's the man. WHO WON ? THE DADDY ! U know why ? Because he's not a lucky puncher bro, he's a very skillfull fighter that comes once in a blue moon.
---------------------------------------------------
And yes, I agree with Brown Ninja here, most people realized now that the gap isn't that big as some thought before.
---------------------------------------------------------------
Barnett will not win I guarantee that. And Barnett ain't better than AA guys , no way. Andre was a champ of UFC at one point . Was Barnett a champ of any MMA event ?

Klitchko brothers.........Hmmmmmmmmm.....Even though Im Russian and all proud and sh*t, I gotta say it here that I wouldn't even allow Klitchko show up on MMA event unless he comes with a broom and a dustpen or something ( yes to clean between the seats) . One low kick to the legs and its u're going to see how long it takes for 6'7'' man to hit the ground. I think its called "Crumble" in english

Yeah I also agree that Fedor was losing the first round but I think it is absurd for people like Yannick to say there has to be a rematch because Arlovski was beating Fedor for a total of 3 minutes and we saw how that worked out for him. And it pisses me off that when people train as hard as these fighters do and then someone comes in and calls the knock out punch a lucky punch. Wouldn't every knockout punch be considered lucky then? Are you saying it was lucky because he threw it at the perfect time and on the perfert part of Andre's chin? I am sorry but I don't feel that there is any luck involved in Fedor's fighting or training.
On another note it is just awesome to see someone with his stature and dominance to be so grounded and gracious. He is a true gentlemen of the sport and he should be named with such greats as Ali, Jordan, and Tiger Woods. If he was an American he would be just as big as those guys but hopefully the sport continues to grow here so he can get the recognition he deserves even to the non mma fans.
And on one more note....who the f-ck in affliction thought it would be a good idea to have Chuck Zito do any type of commentating??? What a f-cking moron. At the end when he just kept saying...."Arlovski was winning the fight until he tried that flying knee", yeah well no shit Chuck....alot of people are winning fights until they try something that gets them knocked out or submitted. You could probably say that about every fight that happens. Really this is when I see Affliction show some of their amatureness(if that is even a word) when they hire people like Chuck Zito who has no business talking at an MMA event. On a side not I thought Tito did pretty well.
-
01-25-2009, 03:26 PM #17
hahaha I know Chuck Zito right ? lol I thought they're trying to make a new episode of OZ at first. Tito Ortiz was always a big mouth and he should stick with a speaking on the events ( he does it way better than actual fighting...At least now)
-
01-25-2009, 03:29 PM #18
I found Tito annoying and not that good. I think Rogan is way better as is Mir. I'm still laughing from the comment above that mentioned Fedor got "exposed" standing up. SO exposed that he KO'd an elite striker?

Ouch didnt see the punch from that angle, sorry guys not a lucky punch at all, i saw the other angle of the fight on the internet the clip stopped after the knock down, from that angle it looked like a lucky punch.
Still Andre showed on hell of a stand up and there has to be a rematch, Fedor was very different in this fight, like he didnt want to mix it up with Andre.

I don't think people were referring to a MMA match between Fedor and Klischko but rather a boxing match. No one is disputing Fefor's dominance. And like you before, the man stays completely calm until an opening. Simply amazing!! I just think that strategy will catch up to him one day.
Same breath as Jordan, Ali, Woods...hmmm I don't know about that. Sure he's taken on the best heavyweights in MMA but can that level of competition be compared to the same level of competition those three guys faced?
As a boxing fan, I see Fedor in the same vain as Roy Jone Jr. or Joe Calzagne in their prime. There simply wasn't the competition for them and thus takes a bit of shine off of their accomplishments. Two fights out there for Fedor to really establish himself as the king of MMA (eliminating Silva from the convo), is Randy Coture and Brock Lesnar. He destroys those two guys, it eliminates ALL QUESTIONS about his dominance... IMO. But I don't know if it counts for much because I'm a more a boxing fan than MMA. But I enjoy the conversation.

Yannick what is your problem man??? I guess I shouldn't have used the words "pissed off", it is kind of just an expression for annoying in the states in case you didn't know that. I don't get mad about mma, I can assure you that. There are too many more important things in my life to actually care about. I just pointed you out because you said it was a lucky punch and I really don't think it was lucky. But all I did was dispute your claim in a rather diplomatic way but then you had to try and make it personal by calling me a "jerk off" and a "prick". I really can't stand it when two guys continue a pissing match like this out in the open and take over the thread but if you have nothing intelligent to offer to the conversation, why don't you try the approach of just not saying anything at all. I think it would work well for you. Anyways I hope you can act a little bit more mature about things in the future when someone disagrees with you or else there is a 99% chance you will probably get knocked on your ass and get tea bagged. ^^Yeah but when I didn't have to actually look at him I thought he offered some good insight into the matches. I really do enjoy Mir's commentary though. I think he is pretty damn good.

Mir is spot on and was great at WEC last night as well. He has a career in broadcasting after Lesnar destroys his fighting career
-
01-26-2009, 01:12 PM #28
Lol....you really think Lesnar will beat Mir??? I see more of the same from the first match. Probably Lesnar gnping the shit out of Mir and then slips up and gets submitted.
-
01-26-2009, 01:50 PM #29
i think Lesnar has turned the corner and will make quick work of Mir. Its funny to hear everyone blowing Mir for world class striking yet it comes out that Nog is having serious vision problems.....no wonder he looked so good

Agreed, I like Mir more outta them all. He knows every fancy submission - what its called and he's really telling u every detail when fighters are on the ground. Joe Rogan is exciting dont get me wrong , but he connects to most people as if he's their buddy , like the dude who'd be drinking a beer with u in the "hooters" while watching UFC. Most people who dont know anything about fighting can understand what's Rogan saying vs. Mir.... U never hear stuff like " This guy is my hero" from Mir's mouth simply because the dude is too cocky to even say that about anyone, BUT for any fighter or someone who understands MMA he's better than Rogan...

Fedor is the man even though he's a heavy weight still has to be in contention if not THE best pound for pound fighter in MMA... I like that he's a smart, patient fighter.. thats rare

U saw " Baddest man on the planet " right ? Did u see what type of place he lived in all his life ? Its a bit better than friggin " Chernobil" lol... I swear fellas and I am not kidding if any of u go there and drink water outta faucet for a month ( just 1 month) u;re teeth will start to fall out regardless of amount of calcium/vitamins/minerals u're taking . U can't imagine how different the inside of a teapot ( the one u boil water for the tea) is different between Russia and U.S.... Fedor's town is a sh*thole of all sh*tholes. Ur ghetto or projects are 5 stars luxury apts. comparing to what good working people live in. Fedor's mom is a teacher. Teachers are #1 underpaid job in Russia . When I was living there 10 years ago , teachers were making maybe 20-30 us dollars a month ( im talking 8hours 5 days a week plus home assignments). Right now its better , they make 100 usd. Why do u think Alex was involved in crime ? Because everyone was. Every dude ( young too. I know I was doing sh*t at 13 already because my parents couldn't get me wrangler jeans. they had to work 4 months and not spend a penny in order to be able afford one pair that cost 9.99 usd on sale here at wal-mart). So any kid, who could be a muscle for organized crime or who had balls to pull the trigger and keep his mouth shot when torchured by cops ( I've seen people admitted that they did 11 murders they never commit. So im not going to tell u what they do to u if u get locked up). Lets just say that inmates in U.S prison system eat better food ( way better) than working people in some places in Russia ( like the one where Fedor grew up). Even though Fedor didn't do time , but his life wasn't a picnic by any means. Im sure u;ll go thru what those boys (Fedor and Alex) went thru, u'll be calm as a frigging python after a good hunt.

Nobody is all over Lesnar's balls!!! Get that straight first, dude!!! Mir stayed relax in his fight against Lesnar while sustaining a flat out ass kickin until he caught Lesnar making a rookie mistake. I doubt Lesnar would allow that to happen again. Mir would be a fool to try to stand up with Lesnar, regardless of his "new" unorthodox boxing techniques. Lesnar is too much man, a better athlete, and learning at a tremendous level to lose to Mir again.
I'm not a Lesnar nut hugger at all, as a matter of fact, I think he is overrated as an athlete. BUT, at this point in heavyweight MMA, it seems to me the shear overall size and power, coupled with decent technique will take that me a long way. IMO, the future of the Hvywt division in MMA is Chet Kongo, Lesnar, and the other big swole white cat...and of course FEdor. Fedor will continue to be THE MAN until someone dethrones him. But it's still my opinion that Anderson Silva is a better fighter the Fedor. Simply based on Silva's overall game and athleticism trumps Fedor's. But again, I'm a boxing fan so I could be talking out my ass!! LOL!!!

Cheick Kongo is a joke.....booh

^^^How do you figure that? There's no arguing the cats got talent. He needs to work his ground game, but calling him a joke is a bit absurd, don't you think?
