Joe Calzagne Retires unbeaten

Where does he rank all-time? As good as he is, I can't put him up there with the all time greats. His pitter patter style and his controversial decision against B-Hop, and the fact that during his time there wasn't much competition, I just can't give it to him.
He's a great athlete, no doubt!!!! Possibly the greatest foreign born fighter ever!!!
Thoughts?

I am with you. He is good but I can't put him in that catagory of legendary. I don't think he would be on my top ten unfortunalty.

A victim of the times (low talent level) as far as being considered an all time great. Or possibly - a product of the times - so we many never know if he was truly great. Either way kudos -to him

I find it strange how so many people thought Jeff Lacy was a super star in the making. Calzagne destroys him, and i mean takes him apart, he's then suddenly a nobody...

^^That's the way these sports work. Unfortunate but true. Joe C was the man. Nice to see him get out early and enjoy life
