    deadlifts and squats

    what is a good program for increasing these two exersizes? i would really like to slam the shyt out of someone, i was thinking 5x5, 3x6, etc.

    "Deadlifts will train the muscles to overcome your body's inertia to accelerate, and they'll allow you to overcome an opponents momentum in contact sports such as football, rugby and wrestling, in which you need to stop or take down an opponent."

    " For increasing absolute strength , 5-6 sets of 3-5 reps 85-90% of your one rep max; for developing explosiveness, 3-4 sets of 5-6 reps with 50-60% of your one rep max. "

    I thought that was a good lil piece right there...
    that is good but how often would i do deadlifts and squats? i read about some programs that focus on deadlifts for a period of 6 weeks and no squats and dito for squats

    I tend to do one or the other. squats for a few months and then deadlifts for a few months. trying to squeeze in both has always felt like a little too much with all the different sports that i play.
