5 weeks out and in trouble

I am 5 weeks out from a regional competition and just tore my right bicep. i went to the hospital and the doctor told me not to lift more that ten pounds for ten days, and said to forget the competition. i also recived an anti-inflamitory and have been icing and applying heat regularly. my trainer and nutrionalist told me just to stay on my diet and keep up my cardio, and train legs more frequently. I'm 6 feet tall and around 235 now and was planning on being on stage at arond 220. just wondering if anyone has any advice or suggestions for me. any help i can get would be appreciated.

Can you hold a flex? Or does it hurt. This would be a determining factor.

aytime my bicep even flex's a little bit the pain is unbearable. even the weight of my own arm is to much and i need a sling if i'm standing. i can barely lift my arm high enough to do a front double bi.

Just keep driving yourself and only time will tell if you will make this meet. Goodluck, keep us posted. You might be able to get away with changing your posing routine to hide that particular side of your pose. It will be difficult if at all possible, but just a thought.

i really appreciate the advice i never thought about posing to hide that side. yeah i'm gonna stick to 50min of cardio in the am with abs and lower back then 25min of cardio in the pm with calves, leg ext, and ham curls. i go back to the doctor friday and if i still cant lift there gonna operate and i'll be out of the show for sure, but if i can get back to simple movements like presses by tuesday of next week i will do the show as i will be lean as a mother f'er after all the cardio. i should be on stage at 6 feet and 220 ripped.

i got a small tear in my hamstring 16 weeks out, its about 32 weeks since the tear and its still giving me trouble. A tear will not heal in a week so be very carefull or you will further aggrovate it.

ditto...aggravate it or precipitate further injury.

I'm currently doing a seven day lean trial run and seems to be working well.
three days sodium load and three days carb load with no sodium.(potatoes and chicken)

Water starts out at 2 gal. and taper off to half gal. By introducing the sodium then sodium depleating will force excess water out of the cells.
