3 weeks out pictures, may not make it....

Here are some pictures of me at 3 weeks out. This will be my first competition so the dieting thing is still a big experiment for me. I started at 225 and am now 191. I may not make contest shape in the 3 weeks I have left. I'm going to try my hardest, but I will not step on stage soft. If I don't get to compete it was a good learning experience for next time. Sorry that the pics are not the greatest. I still don't know how to pose yet. My trainer who is a very accomplished bodybuilder is going to start working with me on posing starting tomorrow for an hour everyday. Not looking for any diet advice or anything. I'm not changing anything now. Just posting the pictures to make a log and see my progress. I'll post up new pics each week. I'm sure they will be much better once I am taught how to pose.

You look good, is this your first show? When you carb up and take the water out, you are really going to look nice.

Thanks for the encouragement and no doubt I did work hard and sacrificed with the diet. But I see it a little differently than you do. I'm not out yet though. 3 weeks can still be a lot of time. I'll keep everyone posted and take new pictures every week. I'm sure the pictures will get better after my trainer teaches me how to properly pose. Starting that tomorrow.

Not quitting at all. I am getting more and more tight everyday. Well see what happens. I don't care if I get up on stage and get last place as long as I got up there looking the way I wanted. The goal is to step on stage and compete ripped. Thanks for the encourgaement. I'll post some new pics on monday.

Just stepping on stage is something 98% of other people would never be able to do.

That is an accomplishment in itself.

    Good luck!

    Wink Dont get discouraged

    hey bro,

i agree with the rest. You look great ! When you cut water and carb up, you will fill out and look amazing. Hang in there, i can tell you worked hard. Look at my pics last year at two weeks out. Your abs look better than mine. Look how they came out on stage.

sorry about the light porn pic. i had to draw posing trunks because my wife caught me walking out of the shower. No porn allowed on this site

    One last thing !

I looked at your side tricep shot and was wondering if you planned on hitting that pose at the show the exact same way you took the photo ? Take a look at my AVTAR and see how i am standing on my side triceps pose. I paid big bucks to learn how to pose. You will be surprised how IMPORTANT hitting a pose correctly is during a competition. Bye the way, you look very vascular. Let me know if I can help you. I am always eager to help people out.

    Take Care and Good Luck,

Thank you for the advice and encouragement. I do see how your side tricep is posed thank you. I was not planning on hitting it that way. I had no idea what I was doing in those pictures. I just recently have been learning how to pose with my trainer. He is properly instructing me and is working on it everyday now with me up to the show. I'm actually surprised at how difficult proper posing can be. I am having the most trouble with my back. I just can't get the lat spread down yet for some reason. But I am practicing all the time. I guess a question I have for you that you may be able to help me with.... I am eating the same way, but sometimes my body is holding onto lots of water and all my vascularity disappears. I drink and drink water all day long. Usually, I'll just keep peeing it out. But sometimes my body holds onto it and I gain up to 6 pounds, its crazy. My abs get completely washed out. By the next day the weight is gone, but the roller coaster kinda scares me. Any idea why this happens? Thank you.

If you are not keeping your sodium levles constant from day to day, then your body weight will vary based upon how much sodium was consumed the day before because of water retention. Sodium is not a bad thing when dieting, it help to keep you full and achieve a pump when glycogen levels begin to drop do to lack of carbs, however, the trick is to consume the same amount day to day.

Thanks for the input. But the thing I can't figure out it that my sodium intake should not be changing from day to day. I'm always eating the same things, so I don't know why my body is holding on to water and then dropping it at different levels from day to day.

Are you referring to your bodyweight and conditioning changing througout the day, or everytime you weigh yourself in the morning after having NOTHING to be eat or drink? If its towards the end of the day, dont worry about it, cause i gain like 8 lbs everyday and my belly begins to hang because of all the food and water ive had for the day, its just natural. Your weight taken in the morning, dry, i would you should be using to monitior your weight loss, not in the evening.
