Energy bars are crap hey have like 10g protein in them which isnt anything. The only time I've ever used protein bars are if I'm going to a concert (Ozzfest, Metallica) and I won't be able to eat very well I just smuggle those in and if I get caught say I have diabetes... eat one of those inbetween meals they have about 30g protien...
Otherwise shakes are a LOT cheaper and have more protein.

What about the big thick protein bars by Met-rx? Those things taste like crap and pack 30 grams of protein according to the label.

...according to the label. What kind of protein is it? Also, look at the ingredient list... I'll bet you've never heard of 90% of the ingredients.

i brought htis up in anohter thread in which everyone refused to respond.
but for metrx-the first ingredient is COLLEGEN which i believe counts as protein and is completely useless. after collegen is whey, but their is no telling how much whey is in tha bar. that is a question i would like to know

Ingredients are listed based on how much of each is in the food.

You can make your own protein bars using whey powder, water, and your choice of fat (flax seed or almonds)...Tons and tons of recipes on google...
