low carb diet and hair loss?
Wuz up guys, I wanted to know if there is a direct correlation between low carb dieting and hair loss. I just lost 30+lbs in 4 months and have noticed more thinning than usual. I wanted to know if this kind of hair loss grows back. I have reached my goal and have stopped the aggresive diet. I use rogaine anyways on a usual basis. Yesterday went to the barber and couldn't shave my head with the usual 3or 4 I use. had to go with a six because barber said my hair had thinned a little. Should I be concerned or will it grow back. I would appreciate any response. Thanks

I have read a few articles on the internet that do suggest that rapid weight loss could be a factor. Either way I guess must be stress.

If you do the eggs and bacon type of low carb you will have dry hair yes and lose some too thinning, i add this, i was on the classic low carb diet.
Today i have learned from this and have am more sound low carb diet, whey protein, soy milk, flax oil, olive oil and eggs are the base of my diet.
Been working fine.

actually there is a link guys...
read this study that a diet high in animal fat , will make ya lose/thin not necessarily tho.....smoking...not having enough fruit/vegetables can affect hair thickness...stress , lack of sleep , etc... etc...

low carb diet + 30lb weight loss in 3 months = decreased metabolism = low thyroid activity = thinning hair, among other things

you may need to incorporate efa's in your diet to fuel hormones, hair growth and skin maintenance.. ive read in a mens health article that hair thinning can be associated with a low carb diet if efa's are not included...
