How much Veg?
is there a limit to how many veggies you can consume in a day
i know they dont effect blood sugar but they still contain calories?
i am cutting at the moment and my meals are so small so i like to put as much veg on my plate as possible
is it ok to do this with every meal? 6 x a day? or is it poss to over do the veg?

Hi, green leafy veggies (i.e. spinach, broccoli...) are considered fibrous carbs and thus not as crucial to count as say, starchy carbs (i.e. brown rice, oats, yams, sweet potatoes...)
Usually a serving at 2-3 meals (i.e. meal 1 & meal before lifting or the one before that) of your day should be good. I did hear that veggies should be avoided for PWO & PPWO, because even though they are fibrous carbs - they slow the digestion process down, therefore halting the absportption of the other important aminos and starchy carbs to your starving muscles.
On non-lifting days, I don't see why not to add them to a few more meals.

Yeah add them as much as you want..but if you use alot of broccoli make sure you get some more iodine from fish or smth

I don't see there being a problem with Veggies PPWO at all. Slowing of digestion is not a concern at this time and in most cases it is a benefit.

But These foods are generally only a concern if iodine intake is low
Someone consuming large amounts of iodised salt or seaweeds could readily overdo it. Excessive iodine has a complex disruptive effect on the thyroid and may cause either hypothyroidism or hyperthyroidism, in susceptible individuals, as well as increasing the risk of thyroid cancer
also The UK has no iodine fortification strategy for plant foods or salt.
A good range is 100-300micrograms a day.

my multi vit has 150mcg iodine so that should cover it
i have recently taken red, green, yellow peppers out of my diet, as well as onions because they contain sugar - i am assuming they would have an effect on on blood sugar/ insulin levels?
was this a correct assumption do u think?

Personally I don't see how adding afew during you meals will make a big difference in your progress, as in anything i guess just make sure you eat them in moderation.

dont all veggies contain sugar?
but i think the the large amounts of fibre lessen the impact

Most green leafy veggies don't really contain sugar. They do contain small amounts of carbs but they are basically neglible.

hell I ate over a kg(2.2 ibs) of veggies/Day(mostly broccoli and spinach and some peas) for a while and still lost weight. Damn my stomach was working fine then. Feelt like I was giving birth to a horse everytime I went to the bathroom
Iodine is not a concern in the western world since table salt has added iodine.
try to always buy organicly grown veggies bro. The regular veggies can almost be harmfull because of the pecticide content and possible genetic modification. They can contain as little as 1/8 of the minerals and vitamins of organicly grown veggies aswell. So even if organicly grown is twice as expensive they are still cheaper when it comes to nutrients.

Veggies are full of fibre and there calories are negligable so there is nothing to worry about
