    first thing to put down when waking up?

    before work i usually just pound a whey shake because i dont have time..about an hour later i go to the deli by my job and get egg whites to have with the oats i packed....so should i have some flax with the whey in the morning first thing to count it as a real meal cuz whey alone i dont count as a meal

    Exactley, i am just learning that now and my body is responding good to splitting up macros...but imo whey and some type of slow digesting carb like oatmeal or some type of whole wheat is good...its what i have But like swole said it is totally dependant on your personal goals...imo

    i used to drink a shake and then around 30 minutes later have egg whites and oatmeal. now i am just consuming the egg whites and oatmeal.

    you could add flax, but like everyone else said, what is your entire daily break down? do you have it posted on here somewhere?

    If its an hour before you get carbs...does anyone know if his body would start trying to convert the whey to energy?

    good question cause sometimes having a shake is common then 30 minutes or an hour late a whole foods meal is common from my experiences....anyone?...swolecat???

    i am taking a bio nutrition class now and ive learned that protein is the last source of energy for the body and doesnt like converting it to energy becuase it has to work preety hard...i wouldnt really use a pure protein shake with no carbs and fat as an energy source.............complex carbs energy

    Flax slows absorption rate (as do all fats). But as Novastepp stated, it would depend upon your daily requirements.

    Why dont you eat the oats before you go to work?

    I always have have either oats and a whey/soy shake or oats, yoghurt and a whey/soy shake.

    i cant eat a solid meal when i first wake up before work...i get up eary..so i just pound the shake and about an hour later i eat the real meal

    i will keep trying...my stomach rumbles at 6am from just whey i cant imagine eggs and oatmeal...by the way, whats the story with that arnold pic? i have seen that before. whoever made that pic hit the nail right on the head damn it almost looks real....but is it??
