first thing to put down when waking up?
before work i usually just pound a whey shake because i dont have time..about an hour later i go to the deli by my job and get egg whites to have with the oats i packed....so should i have some flax with the whey in the morning first thing to count it as a real meal cuz whey alone i dont count as a meal

i used to drink a shake and then around 30 minutes later have egg whites and oatmeal. now i am just consuming the egg whites and oatmeal.

you could add flax, but like everyone else said, what is your entire daily break down? do you have it posted on here somewhere?

If its an hour before you get carbs...does anyone know if his body would start trying to convert the whey to energy?

i am taking a bio nutrition class now and ive learned that protein is the last source of energy for the body and doesnt like converting it to energy becuase it has to work preety hard...i wouldnt really use a pure protein shake with no carbs and fat as an energy source.............complex carbs energy

Flax slows absorption rate (as do all fats). But as Novastepp stated, it would depend upon your daily requirements.
