Pro/Carb or Pro/Fat?
Why can't you mix all three into one meal? Should you be having more of one type of meal daily? If my macros are fine at the end of the day, is that not all that matters?

Some people do mix all three in one meal. The fat they ingest would be an EFA along with their pro/carb. I personally like separating my carbs and fats because I know that if I do the fats I eat with the carbs will get stored as fat and not used. The goal is to keep protein and burn the other macro i.e. carb/fat. If you ingest all three at once your body will burn one and store the others, most likely fat/pro.

Nutrient timing is just as important as (perhaps more important than) summed macros.

if your blood glucose levels rise your body will release insulin and insulin blunts fatburning and enhances fatstorage.
So eating carbs+fat means you will increase risk of storing the fat. Simple as that realy.

i have seen a small difference in not mixing macros. sometimes i do all three to shake things up a bit.
